Synopsis (Goodreads):
Flora doesn’t know which is worse: being abducted by ogres who intend to eat her, or being saved by the barbarian warrior who’d coldly rejected her hand in marriage. Brom the Stonehearted had crushed Flora’s every hope of a future where she was valued for herself, and dreams of a life where she was more than her uncle’s political pawn.

But as they ride toward home, Flora discovers that a warrior raised in the barren wilds of the Dead Lands recognizes value far beyond power and gold—and that his particular kind of courtship could never be cold…
Thoughts on The Stoneheart Bride: Ahh, yes. It's good to be back in the Dead Lands. Sure, sure, there's a little betrayal and sometimes monsters want to eat a person (not in a sexy way, but in a VERY literal way) and a little misunderstanding can cause a lot of heartache for one very sweet lady, but it's always a fun ride.

This time around, we have Flora and Brom. Flora's in a very bad spot when we first meet up with her. Not only do ogres want to eat her (literally), but her heart has been absolutely shattered by Brom's rejection. So when he rides in and saves her from her imminent demise, well...she's a little conflicted. I mean, she more than likes the big guy and she's very happy that she wasn't eaten (literally), but her heart is still pretty bruised and being around Brom hurts.

As for Brom, he's patient. And surprisingly gentle. And VERY relieved he was able to get to Flora in time. He's also not about to let someone as perfect for him as Flora slip away without showing her what she means to him. In other words, THINGS HAPPEN. Nice.

A couple of gross ogres, a dashing savior, a woman who wants at least one night of happiness, and a VERY happy ending. *thumbs up*
