Synopsis (Goodreads):
As keeper of a sacred oath, Aruk allows nothing to tempt him away from his duty. Not gold, not women, not power. So when the barbarian warrior is marooned in the middle of the ocean, his only thought is of escaping the island paradise and continuing his quest.

Until a pretty princess washes up onto the beach. Spoiled and disobedient, Jalisa should have been easy to resist. But when Aruk discovers the secrets concealed by her beautiful smile, he’ll have to decide between his duty and his heart…
Thoughts on Pretty Bride: A couple things about this book: I SINCERELY adore Kati Wilde's writing. Her characters are beautifully layered and they end up in the most ridiculously fun situations. However, even if I hadn't already been smitten by the author's previous books, I would have picked this one up, NO QUESTIONS ASKED, after seeing a teaser that promised squid-fighting, shark-punching, and a queen who rides her king into righteous battle.

Guys. GUYS. ALL THOSE THINGS ARE TRUE and I can't even describe my levels of delight at this. I am delighted. Delightful noises are escaping from me right now. *squealing sounds*

Beyond all that gloriousness, we have Aruk and Jalisa. He's a mercenary barbarian bound to uphold his sacred oath. She's a (seemingly) spoiled princess who ends up having a lot more going for her than just her pretty face. And once the secrets start spilling, things get VERY interesting.

Oh, and there's some squid-fighting and shark-punching. AND A QUEEN WHO RIDES HER KING INTO RIGHTEOUS BATTLE. <--I have so much love for that line. So much.

Set in the Dead Lands world, mention is make of Kael the Conqueror and his quest to find a bride (which is an excellent book and you should totally read it). Aruk's twin get's his time to shine too, so that's the next book waiting for me. Because I AM SMITTEN!

Bring it!
