Synopsis (Goodreads):
She met a hot reanimated dead guy at a monster speed dating event. Then things really got weird…Thoughts on Monster Match: Oh man, Viktor was a sweetheart. Sure, he's technically a monster, but he's a far sight better than Lucy's ex. I mean, the big guy is ALL ABOUT her. All about. He likes her mind and her quick wit and how she isn't willing to use people to get what she wants.
Lucy West wasn’t looking for a husband at the Monster Match. She was just there to admire some gothic architecture and score a free meal.
Then she met him.
Viktor Adamovic defied science. Literally. He was a monster who’d been stitched together from multiple, um, donors and resurrected centuries ago. Lucy liked him immediately. But the protective, possessive beast he kept leashed beneath his polished exterior? She wanted that guy in a big way.
Then the weirdness really hit the fan when he proposed a marriage of convenience. To her!
It seemed like the perfect solution to her problems and his. And in a fairy tale, that would’ve been their happy ending.
Too bad this wasn’t that kind of story.
Because when the ghosts of Viktor’s past come calling, Lucy realizes she’s no princess—and if she wants her happily ever after with the monster of her dreams, she’s going to have to fight for it…and him…
Considering how he'd been used and abused in the past by his creator, that last one is BIG.
On Lucy's end, she doesn't have a problem with Viktor's designation as a monster. She likes him in all the ways a lady can like a man, the fact he was created rather than born isn't a deal breaker for her. The guy also has stamina. Lucy REALLY appreciates that.
A chance meeting, a whole lot of rescue pups, a marriage of convenience (of sorts) which turns into a whole lot more, and a blast from the past that is very unwelcome. I liked Viktor. I liked Lucy. I liked their growing pack of pups. GOOD STUFF.
