Synopsis (Goodreads):
The crew of the Scarlet Gaze are figuring out what they want to do now that Lord Straik sa'Rin is no longer running a corsair ship. Some of the a'ani crew want to run a cantina on Risda III.

Kazex just wants Ruthie.

Ruthie just wants to have a nervous breakdown.

Well, she wants Kazex, too. The delicious a'ani chief of security has been a steady, protective, delicious presence ever since she joined the crew. He's made it clear that he loves Ruthie as she is, nervous wreck and all. But Ruthie's afraid of what will happen to their easy friendship if she asks for more. What if kissing his tattoos and touching his sinful body changes things? It's too late for flirting - now it's time for forever. And forever terrifies her.

The only thing more terrifying? Missing her chance with Kazex entirely.

This is a friends-to-lovers between clones (one alien, one human) and starts a new spinoff series that melds the Corsair Brothers series and the Risdaverse stories.
Thoughts on Only the Clonely: We're back on Risda III and some of Lord Straik's a'ani crew are figuring out what they want to do now that Lord Straik is forced to retire from the corsairing business. I'm going to be honest, I feel like "figuring out" is a generous phrase. SOME of the crew might have an idea about what they want to do, but most don't. So when Erzah starts putting his plan for opening a cantina in motion, several of the crew just sort of follow along.

Kazex doesn't much care about the cantina side of things, but he's willing to follow Ruthie to the ends of the universe. Where she goes, he goes. Which maybe isn't the greatest thing because Ruthie is still tangled up about who she is and being a clone. Between the gaps in her memories and the other insecurities she's dealing with (including, but not limited to a rousing case of PTSD plus general anxiety), she has a hard time committing to anything. Making decisions freezes her up and she doesn't know how to break out of the rut she's in and change this.

HOWEVER, some excellent advice (for both Ruthie and Kazex) from Ruthie's cloned sisters helps them start to move forward. It takes patience and understanding and (sometimes) pushing outside of comfort zones, but these two eventually get where they need to be. Even if they have to take a side trip or two to the Port jail cells to get there. *thumbs up*
