Synopsis (Goodreads):
As a new crush develops and a friend goes missing, a young woman who loves old movies stumbles into the plot of one in this quirky short story from USA Today bestselling author Alicia Thompson.

Time rewinds at the video store—the clerk is always hot and grumpy, and kindly retiree Mr. Hoffman rents the same thing every week. Audrey hangs around for both these reasons. But when her fellow film buff fails to appear, she goes to his house over the protests of her flannelly video store crush, who knows more than he lets on. It’s just like a movie. And she’s worried about the twist.
Thoughts on A Classic Case: This one was cute. Audrey has a super low key crush on the owner of the video store. Well, it's actually not that low key, but Audrey is shy and doesn't quite know how to put herself out there. And Grant? He's a little gruff and a lot hunky and they get their one day a week to be in one another's orbit.

When one of the other video store regulars misses his normal visit, Audrey starts to worry. Circumstances have her heading out to Mr. Hoffman's house to check on him and suddenly Audrey and Grant and working (-ish) together. Well, Audrey's coming up with increasingly dire scenarios and Grant's trying to rein her in.

Cute, fun, and Audrey's sweetly unhinged ideas about what might have happened to Mr. Hoffman (and about Grant, come to think of it) made me laugh. *thumbs up*
