Synopsis (Goodreads):
An English manor home, an unsolved mystery, too many suspects to count… It’s the perfect holiday for romance novelist Sara Medlar.

Sara Medlar, her niece Kate and their friend Jack need a change of scenery so Sara arranges for them to visit an old friend in England. Upon arrival at Oxley Manor, a centuries-old estate converted to a luxury hotel, Kate and Jack quickly realize Sara is up to something. They learn that Sara has also invited a number of others to join them.

When everyone assembles, Sara explains. Decades earlier, two people ran off together from Oxley and haven’t been heard from since—and Sara wants to solve the case. As the people who were there the night the two went missing, the guests find themselves cast in a live mystery-theater event.

In reenacting the events of that night, Sara, Jack and Kate are once again at the heart of a mysterious case that only they are able to solve. But someone is willing to continue to kill to keep the truth about Oxley Manor buried, and none of the guests are safe.
Thoughts on A Forgotten Murder: In theory, Sara is visiting England with Kate and Jack to relax. But Sara isn't great at relaxing and, maybe more to the point, the mystery of the two individuals who disappeared from Oxley Manor has captured her attention. So while she is fully prepared to let Kate and Jack continue onto Scotland without her, Sara miiiiight be looking to uncover the clues that led to said disappearance all those years ago.

As for Kate and Jack, they aren't interested in anything that might put themselves in danger again. But...things are weird around Oxley Manor and the people Sara has invited to join them are, well, there are layers there. And not all those layers are nice. While Kate and Jack don't want to get involved is this disappearance, they also aren't willing to leave Sara in a potentially dangerous situation. Honestly, every new interaction with the other guests have them believing things are getting more and more dangerous.

So they stay and unravel the secrets that have been buried for decades. AS ONE DOES.

An entitled group of jerks (seriously, so entitled and so jerky), a house that has seen a lot in its years, a little dinner theater (possibly without the dinner, so I guess it was just theater), an unpleasant look at past events, Kate and Jack maybe taking their relationship to the next level, and Sara doing what she does best as she sets things in motion to let the truth be revealed. *thumbs up*
