Synopsis (Goodreads):
Ten years after disappearing from Antietam, Maryland, the bad boy has come home. Cleaned up, successful and still dangerously good-looking, Rafe MacKade plans to open a bed-and-breakfast with the help of antique shop owner Regan Bishop. Though independent Regan claims to not want to get involved with a rebel, working in such close quarters has her struggling to resist Rafe’s charms. And even though she wants to keep their relationship professional, Rafe is pretty sure that her reaction to their sizzling kisses suggests otherwise…Thoughts on The Return of Rafe MacKade: The town bad boy has returned after years away and a relative newcomer (as in Regan wasn't born there) catches his eye. Rafe is volatile, determined, and focused. The dream he had the day he left town is becoming a reality and he's elbow deep in renovations and ghosts. That last part might only be a little true. I mean, the ghosts don't really bother him. They're just part of the house he's working on.
But Regan. Now, she bothers him. In the best way. She intrigues him and lights him up. She might be a little more buttoned up compared to his usual type, but he likes everything about her all the same.
On Regan's end, she's...not exactly wary, but also exactly that. His reputation as a bad boy doesn't bother her, but her wild attraction to him has her on edge. Which makes things interesting when they start working closely together on furnishing Rafe's project. And the house ghosts? They give Regan plenty to think about on more than one occasion.
A small town, family bonds, history, steamy kisses, old hurts, a man who's determined to take something that's falling down and bring it back to life, and a woman who more than a match for a certain MacKade. Good times!
