Synopsis (Goodreads):
Shane MacKade is used to getting what he wants, especially when it comes to women. So it comes as a shock when he is rebuffed by the brilliant Dr. Rebecca Knight. The PhD-toting academic takes Shane completely off guard with her intelligence and wit while she conducts a research experiment at his family’s ancestral farm. Rebecca is too busy to make any time for romance, but she can’t help but succumb to the MacKade charm. Shane’s days as a bachelor might just be coming to an end…
Thoughts on The Fall of Shane MacKade: It's time for the youngest of the MacKade brothers to find his special someone and Rebecca is...well, I was going to say she was not Shane's usual type, but Shane loves all women, so does he really have a type in that case? Huh. I guess what I'm trying to say is that Rebecca doesn't fall for Shane's easy charm. No, that's not right either. She acknowledges his charm, but she's self aware enough to know she could fall for him far too easily if she wasn't careful. So she decides to be careful.

Except...Shane is sneaky. Yep. That charm of his sneaks under her defenses and it doesn't take long before she's resigned herself to loving the guy with no expectation he'll feel the same.

Except...Rebecca intrigues Shane. From her incredible brain to her interest in everything to the way she feels right on his farm. Those lovey-dovey feelings sort of sneak up on him, but he thinks there's nothing in his small town to keep a big-league smarty pants like her around.

Joke's on both of them because once they're able to let go, they both fall hard. And just mayyyybe they got a little help from the ghosts of the past as they work toward finding closure for everyone affected by the tragedy that took place on a battlefield years ago.

Ghosts, heartache, and new beginnings. A solid ending for the MacKade brothers.
