Synopsis (Goodreads):
Investigative reporter Irene Stenson hasn’t been to her hometown of Dunsely, California, since the gruesome night she found both her parents dead on the kitchen floor. Now, seventeen years later, Irene has received a shocking new lead about their deaths—and is determined to discover the truth of what happened on that long-ago night.

Staying at a local lodge, she finds herself confiding in handsome Luke Danner—an ex-marine who’s as used to barking orders as Irene is to ignoring them. But Luke sees the terror beneath her confident exterior—and can’t help but want to protect her. He is also driven by passions of his own, and as they’re drawn together into the heart of danger, they will risk far more than either of them expected.
Thoughts on All Night Long: (Apparently I had read this book at some point in the [distant] past, but I really didn't remember it so it was basically like reading a new book all over again. Which is fantastic!)

After dealing with probably the worst thing a child can deal with, Irene had moved away from Dunesly and not looked back. Until, that is, one of her former childhood friends contacted her with a mysterious request and Irene is forced to face some of those metaphorical ghosts and (hopefully) set them to rest. But before she does that, she has to deal with Luke.

Except, Luke has his own set of issues he's dealing with and Luke's brand of dealing helps Irene realize that maybe she's not as odd (or as alone) as she's been led to believe. In fact, the two help one another probably more than they expected when they first met.

While Luke is not a people person (understatement), he feels oddly protective of Irene and the secrets she appears to be carrying around with her. As they unravel the scant clues left from the decade-plus deaths of Irene's parents, he begins to suspect that her conspiracy theories might be more on target than anyone is comfortable with.

A little danger, a lodge that is not very people-friendly, day old donuts, a man who is trying to find himself after getting out of the military, and a lady who wants answers. *thumbs up*
