Review: Sin Undone by Larissa Ione

Sin Undone (Demonica #5) by Larissa Ione
Synopsis (Goodreads):
HER TOUCH IS DEADLY
As the only female Seminus demon ever born, master assassin Sinead Donnelly is used to being treated like an outcast. She spent decades enslaved, and now vows she'll die before she'll relinquish her freedom again. Then Sin's innate ability to kill her enemies goes awry: She creates a lethal new werewolf virus that sparks a firestorm of panic and violence.

HIS HUNGER CAN'T BE DENIED
Half-werewolf, half-vampire Conall Dearghul is charged with bringing in Sin to face punishment for the plague. And she's no stranger: He's bound to her by blood, and the one sexual encounter they shared has left him hungering for her raw sensuality. Worse, Sin is the underworld's most wanted and Con soon learns he's the only one who can help her . . . and that saving her life might mean sacrificing his own.
My Thoughts: A series like this is one where I'm the tiniest bit glad I came late to the game because it gave me a chance to glut myself on the books and read them one after another. I loved that the events from the previous book bled into the current one I was reading (for example, Sin starting the plague in book 4 and having to deal with the fallout in book 5), but the biggest thing I loved was that we got to see the brothers continue to grow after their HEA was reached. We got to see them struggle and fight and love and come to terms with having a sister that shouldn't exist. We got to see them come together and welcome both Sin and Lore into the fold. It might not have been the smoothest ride for them to reach that point, but they did it.

Sin was an interesting character. In a good way. She plays the badass but so many of her actions are based around trying to cause less pain for the people she cares about. She takes the position as the leader of the assassin den after Deth is displaced (what a nice way of putting that!) because she doesn't want Idess to have to deal with being constantly on guard. She wants Idess and Lore to have a chance together. She uses her Seminus gift to cause death and destruction yet when she accidentally creates the plague that begins wiping out the Warg population, she's torn by guilt.

Dude, I totally loved Con. He was reckless at times, he's always on the prowl for something new and exciting and he's got the sexy half vamp/half werewolf thing going for him. As a bonus, he uses the knowledge he's gained from working as a paramedic at Underworld General to better incapacitate and more quickly kill his enemies. How can you not respect a guy who uses his brain like that? Okay, maybe that's just me.

While I'm sad to have reached the end of the currently published books, I was super excited by the introduction of the Horsemen. A whole new facet of this world to explore is at my fingertips!

  1. Oh yeah, this series is one of my favorites. I liked Sin particularly, because she is such a badass, but yet she's oddly vulnerable. Great review!

    1. Yes! This. She's a badass who's vulnerable. It shouldn't work but it totally did!
