- SO MUCH STUFF HAPPENED THIS WEEK!
- My sister had a baby. Because my sis wouldn't tell us the name she and the bro in law had picked out until the baby was born, the family took to calling the kiddo Baby Watermelon. That name is now stuck in my head and I shall call her BABY WATERMELON until she graduates up to Little Watermelon. Welcome, Baby Watermelon! You'll love us! I SWEAR!
- Thursday morning (on day 2 of wrangling my 3 year old nephew while Baby Watermelon was in the hospital), my computer up and died. Since I've had the thing for 8 years or so, this wasn't exactly a surprise but ... well, trooping out to buy a new one on top of all the other excitement wasn't exactly on my list of things I wanted to do for the day. That said... OMG!I LOVE MY NEW COMPUTER! *pets it* *pets it some more*
- There was more. I just can't remember it.
- On Monday, I reviewed Operation: Endgame (When the Mission Ends #1) by Christi Snow over at Amanda's blog. Danger, heartache, and hot sex! RAWR!
- Free Books Need Love, Too! weekly reviews:
- Monday - The Misbehaving Marquess by Leigh LaValle
- Tuesday - GLA: Fuckin' Werewolf by Barbie Lez
- Wednesday - Mated to the Prince & Mated to the Minotaur by Clara Bright
- Seriously Series weekly update: Ha, after last week, this feels like I didn't read at all. BUT... I made forward progress (as opposed to backward progress which doesn't help me in the least), so I am pleased!
- Series started in 2013: 18/18 (+1 since last week)
- Series started before 2013: 17/18 (+1 since last week)
- Series rereads: 4/12 (static)
- Want to know what freebie audiobooks Sync will be offering up this summer? LOOK NO FURTHER! They have a handy list WITH DATES! The first set of books go up on the 30th! It does look like the free downloads will only be available from Thursday through Monday, so make sure you're checking weekly if you're interested.
- This little gem is from the a couple of weeks ago but it made me LOL like mad so... The Bloggess (might be safe for work. I don't know. I guess it depends on whether giant blacked out dildos are... you know what? Just play it safe.)
- Amanda and Gaby are continuing their series of discussion posts about (re)Discovering the Basics of Blogging. This week... the need to churn out content.
- Lauren DeStefano has an incredibly moving post about her battle against anxiety. I applaud her wholeheartedly for not only pushing through the panic and going to those book signings even though they make her physically sick at times so she can meet the fans but also for writing about it. I'm also not afraid to admit that her post made me cry. I don't have it quite as bad as she does but there are days when facing people makes me shrivel up inside. So... thank you, Lauren DeStefano. Thank you.
You popped up on a nightly Google... Holy CRAP you have a lot of books!!!
ReplyDeleteYou are a reading machine :D
Lol! Trying to be! I didn't do as much reading this week. You should have seen LAST week!
DeleteYOU HAD A BIG WEEK!
ReplyDeleteSomething something something. I forgot what else I said. Why did Blogger eat my comment?
I don't even have alcohol to blame for this. Woe. Woe.
HAHAHA! I don't know why Blogger decided to be all douchey. I apologize on its behalf.
DeleteYes. I did have a big week. I'm going to go visit Baby Watermelon tomorrow, too. THAT'LL BE FUN!
I got to see my own Nieceling today, but she was extra cranky and...that was no good.
DeleteOoh. No. Cranky babies are definitely no good.
DeleteA new family member and a new computer in the same week? EPIC times!
ReplyDeleteAnd I cannot wait for the Sync downloads! I shall set a weekly reminder pronto.
Yesssss. I had a busy week!
DeleteI'm very excited for several of those audio freebies. I need to remember to post a reminder in my upcoming Clock Rewinders posts.
