Even when Donovan's being a little obtuse (C'mon, sweet pea, don't you think that there might have been another side to the story than just the one that the traumatized girl told you), they're my favorite. And Malcolm! MALCOLM! He's so wonderfully damaged and just this side of cracked. His ability to follow magic is both a blessing (finding the little lost lambs) and a curse (hello, new obsession!) and I just ADORE him. Which is a funny thing to say about a half feral kid who would cheerfully rend his enemies with his bare hands. But that's the way it is. I like the kid and I want him to find a measure of peace after everything he's been through.
BIG things happen in this book. BIG things. Donovan's care of the Sidhe girl delights me to no end. Malcolm is beginning to piece together something that could have huge ramifications for the survival of the Fey. We were given answers to some of the questions about the events leading up to the collapse of the Mounds. See? BIG THINGS!
