Synopsis (Goodreads):
What’s a poor feline to do when trouble strikes from every direction?

Find a pillow and a patch of sunlight for a relaxing nap, or realize that sometimes a lion needs to make new rules and show a stubborn falcon he’s more than just a handsome kitty?

Avian Soaring Security has transferred Clarice to the Furry United Coalition so she can help track some escaped psycho patients. As if that weren’t bad enough, they partnered her with the very pampered Dr. Manners. Everything about the attractive feline annoys her, except for his flaming hot kisses. But is passion enough to keep a usually sparring species together?

Nolan’s pedigree isn’t the only thing preventing him from falling for his sexy partner. She’s bossy, violent, rude and oh so intriguing to this curious cat, but his meddlesome mother will never allow him to get involved with a bird. But before he can decide if love is worth bucking pride tradition, he needs to stay out of the clutches of a demented ex-patient.
My Thoughts: This series. THIS SERIES. It just gets more fun with every book. Seriously, these books are ridiculously entertaining. Between the somewhat vain, mildly spoiled male lion, the hard-edged falcon, and the oodles of irreverent secondary characters (including Viktor, my favorite of the returning characters), you get a little bit of everything mixed in with a healthy dose of humor.

Nolan... what do I have to say about him? Hmm. Well, I appreciate his need to daily naps (seriously). I LOVE that he's so dedicated to keeping his mane in tip top shape. While he could have come across as a spoiled, petulant brat, instead he's more like a big kid who goes with the flow and makes the best of things. All while trying to think up new ways to show his independence. I liked him, okay? I LIKED HIM!

Clarice's sharp edges work nicely with Nolan's roll-with-the-punches attitude. She pushes, he pulls. She feels like she has things to prove and he likes her determination. She tells him she's not interested, he knows the truth. Once Clarice got past his playboy lion image and saw the man he was underneath, she knew she was in deep.

And that's what I like about Eve Langlais books - opposites attract and they do it with humor, style, and a whole mess of inappropriate thoughts (and some naughty times in the bathroom).

Score another win for FUC!

    1. If you're looking for sassy, fun heroines, Eve Langlais delivers! I don't think I've come across a book of hers yet that has disappointed me.
