Synopsis (Goodreads):
Two opponents must confront the cause of their obsessive fury in the latest Novel of the Elder Races…

As a harpy, Sentinel Aryal is accustomed to dealing with hate, but Sentinel Quentin Caeravorn manages to inspire in her a burning ire unlike anything she’s ever known. Aryal believes the new Sentinel to be a criminal, and vows to take him out as soon as the opportunity arises. But the harpy’s incessant wrath has pushed Quentin to the limit, and forces him to make a deadly vow of his own.

To put an end to the conflict, Dragos, Lord of the Wyr, sends them on a reconnaissance mission to the Elven land of Numenlaur. Forced to work together, Aryal and Quentin’s mutual antagonism escalates. Each fight draws forth more passion—culminating in an explosively sexual confrontation. But when their quest reveals real danger, Aryal and Quentin must resolve their differences in ways beyond the physical, before the entire Wyr is threatened.
Thoughts on Kinked: I am insanely in love with this series as a whole. I love how unrepentantly Alpha Dragos is. I love how when the Sentinels fall, they fall hard and fast. I love the machinations and how beautifully the world flows from one story to the next.

Not going to lie, my love affair only got stronger with this book.

Sooooo. Aryal. She's one of the Sentinels I've had a hard time getting a feel for. She's abrasive, hard around the edges, and she doesn't give up once she has her teeth in something. Yet, she stands behind Dragos as one of his chosen and the other Sentinels respect her and what she can do. Getting to see Aryal in all her Harpy-esque glory was fun. She enjoys the thrill of the fight. She's quick to lash out and she has her mad on at Quentin something fierce.

Watching her unbend enough to see he isn't all bad was fantastic.

Quentin... well, he has a few secrets. They're secrets that have been eating away at him and Aryal's pit bull tenacity at trying to figure out what he's hiding have put him on edge. Forcing the two of them to work together on their mission to Numenlaur looks like it'll be a long, painful trip.

Except it isn't. The more time they spend together, the more they come to respect the other's abilities. Frankly, their trip through Numenlaur uncovers the softer side of both of them. Although, to be fair, neither of them will ever be soft. And that's why they fit. They're both tough warriors who sometimes need another warrior to lean on when the times get rough.

See what I mean? My love affair is in full swing. I adored watching these two break down the walls of their thinking to find that the person in front of them is exactly the one they need.

I can't wait to see what Thea Harrison has in store for the other Sentinels. Can you tell?
