Synopsis (Goodreads):
They are destined to find each other…

Allene Whelan is scavenging through the ruins of post-apocalypse Oregon when she finds a strange tarot card, the Knave of Blades. Touching it awakens her magic—the power of the sylph, a rare and deadly seelie sidhe who can defeat any other of her kind. Her pollen is intoxicating. Her magic is irresistible. And she’s suddenly at the center of the Autumn Court’s war against the rebellious True Kingdom.

She’s the only person who might be able to defeat Macsen, the prophesied Fenrir who will one day grow big enough to devour the world. But first she needs to make herself strong enough to face him, and that means collecting power as only a sylph can. Joining the Raven Knights means committing more than her life to defeating the True Kingdom. She’s committing her soul…and her body.
Thoughts on Knave of Blades: Okay. For those of you who haven't read anything in S.M. Reine's Decentverse, you're missing out. It's a batshit crazy urban fantasy romp that has more twists and turns than the legendary labyrinth of the minotaur (that's not an obscurely subtle reference to anything that happens in these books, btw. I just like minotaurs and these books are crazy. CRAZY GOOD, PEOPLE. But also crazy. Like, WTF just happened and how did I not see that coming??? OMG THIS IS SO GOOD! crazy.)...I lost my train of thought with that aside, but all of it's true so I'm not going to go back and change it. Not a word. It's crazy. And good. And crazy.

I think the point I was trying to make is that if you're not reading this series and you enjoy a rollicking urban fantasy romp, you should check it out. You get a massive, interconnected world chock full of werewolves and fae and gods and demons and magic and it's ridiculously engaging. RIDICULOUSLY.

Anyway. This series takes us back to shortly after Genesis. The world has reset and it hasn't quite found its rhythm again. The fae courts are doing battle with the True Kingdom, people are still being rebirthed spontaneously into their new forms, and things are weird.

In this center of it, Allene meets Leander, discovers she's integral to defeating a prophecy, and tries to find her place in this new life. I'm curious about Keane (I want to know what makes that Raven Knight tick). I'm delighted with Leander's...ahh, maybe I shouldn't mention this part. Let's just say I'm happy with the path he's decided to follow and leave it at that.

AND THAT ENDING. I'm going to be slowly dying inside until the next book. THINGS ARE HAPPENING AND OMG!

Sexy, dangerous, and irresistible. I'm IN!
