Synopsis (Goodreads):
So. Alice. She's in a rough place when we first meet her. Which is to say she was being falsely imprisoned and forced against her will into a virtual world that's designed to break a person down while keeping their body alive. NOT FUN. However, she does manage to hold onto the knowledge of what Wonderland is and that helps her keep her wits. At least for a while.
But the longer she's in there, the hazier the real world becomes and that could be a very bad thing for her and all the other patients trapped within Wonderland.
As for Shadow, he's the ghost who delights in causing chaos and confusion. He's found his place in Wonderland and he's lost all sense of who he was before and only lives in the here and now. He's a glorious mess and he lays his own special brand of claim to Alice the first time he lays eyes on her. And then he does whatever he has to do to make sure she stays safe.
A little crazy, a little chaotic, and a lot fun. Alice and Shadow show Wonderland (and those who think they run it) who's boss and I LIKE IT!

Synopsis (Goodreads):
Alice knows Wonderland is just a virtual world operated inside an asylum to which she’s been wrongfully committed, but she can’t find her way out—can’t find her way back to the life she lived before she woke beneath titanic trees and towering flowers. With the terrifying Red King searching for her and chaos all around, her only hope of escape lies in Shadow, a tall, mysterious being with glowing eyes, sharp claws, and a haunting grin who may be the maddest of them all.Thoughts on Escaping Wonderland: Right on. A little Wonderland craziness to close out these Cosmic Fairy Tales books for me. For the record, I have loved this series like mad and Alice and Shadow's story was just the perfect exclamation point of an ending.
But even if Wonderland isn’t real, her growing feelings for Shadow—and his desire for her—are. Can Alice and Shadow escape Wonderland together, or will she succumb to the madness like everyone else?
