Synopsis (Goodreads):
Who says you can’t live the rock and roll life after forty?
You just need a lot more vitamins and a bigger bottle of aspirin.

Valerie Costa was pretty sure she was rocking her forties. She had an amazing coffee shop, two cool teenagers, and a new superpower that gave her insight into any random object she touched.

Okay, she wasn’t thrilled about that last one.

Ever since Val and her two best friends had driven their car off the edge and into Glimmer Lake the year before, Val has struggled with her new abilities. She’s not exactly sure she wants to be psychic, she could live without her newfound glove addiction, and honestly no one wants to know that much about their teenage sons.

But when Val’s ex-husband goes missing, and police show up at her door with questions she can’t answer, Val, Robin, and Monica are going to have to use their sudden psychic abilities to solve a mystery none of them saw coming.
Thoughts on Semi-Psychic Life: It's Val's turn to come to terms with her new found power and...well, at first she's dealing with it the only way she can. Which is to say she's doing everything she can to not use her ability. Because being bombarded with unasked for snippets of other people's lives is NOT fun.

Then Val's ex (and the father of her kids) goes missing and suddenly her ability is the only chance she has to help him. Because she may not like the guy for what he did to her, but he is her kids' father and they (mostly) like him. So she puts on her big girl panties and does what she need to do.

Along the way she butts heads with the sheriff, makes eyes at the sheriff, and finally realizes she needs more people in her corner regarding her ability (like the sheriff). The fact the sheriff is a hunk and is pretty darn into her helps in all those regards.

Val, Robin, and Monica still continue to support each other AMAZINGLY and their circle of trusted peeps is getting wider. I'm digging this series pretty hard. *thumbs up*
