Synopsis (Goodreads):
I live for danger. For excitement. For adventure.Thoughts on Corsairs: Kaspar: It's adrenaline-junkie Kaspar's turn to find his forever-human and she's NOT THRILLED WITH ALL THIS ADVENTURE THEY'RE THRUST INTO. Seriously. After three years of uncertainty with the other captured humans aboard the Star, Alice wants a little less stress.
When I end up in an escape pod with Alice, though, my world changes. She’s human. Vulnerable. She does NOT love danger, or excitement. But her mind is clever, her retorts sharp, and her smile brings me to my knees. I want nothing more than to keep her safe…and keep her at my side.
What does one danger-loving corsair do when he’s stranded with a beautiful human female on a jungle planet? I’m about to find out…
This might shock no one, but: SHE DOES NOT GET LESS STRESS. Not when she's paired up with Kaspar for their daring escape in the pod. HA. No. Dude likes to run face-first into battle. While Alice might not get less stress, what she does get is a profound appreciation for Kaspar's can-do attitude. He treats every day like it's an adventure waiting to unfold and he's a genuine ray of sunshine while doing it.
Which isn't it say he doesn't come to worry about ways to keep Alice safe. Yup, Kas has is bad for his grumpy human and the more time he spends with her, the more he's determined to keep her whole and hale. Even if that means stopping to think up a plan before diving into a fight.
