Synopsis (Goodreads):
On the eve of her thirtieth birthday, sports agent Bess Beringer is ready to make some changes. Armed with a five-year plan—indexed and color coded—she’ll tackle her personal life with the same zeal that she brings to her successful agency.

A big, tall, ripped hunk of hockey player who’s just been traded to the Brooklyn Bruisers is not a part of that plan. Mark “Tank” Tankiewicz has a lot of baggage. He’s a ride-or-die loner with a bad reputation. He’s on the rebound. He’s also the sexiest thing on two legs, and for some crazy reason it’s Bess that he wants.

She knows better. But then she falls stupid in love with him anyway. And for a while it seems like maybe he’ll do the same.

Until she asks him for the one thing he can never give her…
Thoughts on Sure Shot: Bess and Tank. Circumstances pulled them apart early in their careers and now they're finding their way back to one another again. It's not necessarily a rough, angst-filled road to a relationship for them, but it also isn't smooth. Bess is pretty clear about what she wants in the future and Tank...well, he has a few issues he needs to settle in his head before the two of them can reach an understanding.

But while he's reaching his happy mental place, they can certainly revisit the smokin' months they spent together all those years ago. And guess what? Time has not dulled their chemistry. Tank might be keeping a few things close to the vest, but he's all in when it comes to showing Bess a good time. And he might not be part of her five-year plan (on paper, at least), but he makes her feel good about life and that was what her plan was about, right?

Anywho. We got to see familiar faces. We got to snarl in disgust at the captain of Tank's former team (seriously, that's guy's a massive douchebucket). We got to watch a former adversary (on the ice, at least) figure out how he fits in with the Brooklyn boys. And we got to watch sassy, driven Bess throw her carefully cultivated plan out the window when she realized the guy in front of her was exactly the person she needed to make her happy.

MAN, I like these Bruisers!
