Synopsis (Goodreads):
Trespassers will be gutted and hung!—Slagton’s Town Motto

Normally, not even drunk on a bet would Violet Parker go to Slagton, a creepy ghost town inhabited by those too stubborn—or deranged—to leave.

But a certain bullheaded Deadwood detective has a problem—his informant from Slagton has gone missing. When Violet is shanghaied into taking a hunting trip to the ghost town to search for the missing snitch, she stumbles into trouble that will take more than a double-barreled shotgun to escape.

Will Violet survive this new Hell that haunts her, or will she end up on Slagton’s growing list of those gutted and hung?
Thoughts on Gone Haunting in Deadwood: Ha! Slagton! The place that gives even Violet sweaty palms.

With good reason, as it turns out. Or, you know, maybe not. Maybe she just needs to really know what's going on there to banish her qualms about the place for good. Just Violet's qualms though. Everybody else would still be wary and careful and sweaty-palmed around that place.

So. Slagton. Otherworldly beasties. Cooper having an attack of conscience (which makes him sound like he is usually morally deficient, which is NOT correct. He just took on a heaping helping of guilt for some of the things that happened this time around and Violet had to talk him out of it. Which is kinda weird unto itself.). Answers which lead to more questions.

You know, basically the usual for the feisty Executioner and her crew. We do find out more about how those Violet has drawn to her through friendship and such fit into her world.

In other words, Violet's life is complicated and ridiculously fun to immerse yourself in. She's got problems on top of problems and she has a gift for managing to wiggle her way out of almost any dangerous situation. GOOD STUFF.
