Synopsis (Goodreads):
Daisy. Daisy. Daisy.

From the moment her name is spoken, it is all I can hear. Her frightened tears bring me anger. I vow to wipe them off her face and banish her fear. To make her my queen.

But I have to catch her first.

I have to convince her to trust me.

I have to show her she is safe.

But only with ME.

Because if any other naga male tries to take Daisy away from me, I will kill them.

And if she runs?

She’ll find out there’s no escape.

I’ve paid the price to mate her, and she needs to know a gilded nest is better than freedom in my world.
Thoughts on King Cobra: Hoo-boy. I am way way WAY digging the tantalizing bits of information we're getting regarding the Lurkers and their technology, the origins of the Naga, and...I don't know. Just everything. I might not have a clear picture of the whys and hows and whatnots, but the way things are coming together and being revealed....*maniacal laughter* I like.

But enough about the past and what it all means. Let's talk about Daisy and Zaku. Like Vruksha and his obsession with Gemma, Zaku sees Daisy and gets all hot and bothered. As one of the biggest of the Naga, he's sure he's not going to have a problem catching his little human and he's mostly right. Daisy has to almost suffer some unpleasantness at the hands of another Naga before Zaku catches her, but she fights back and saves herself in that instance. However, the unpleasantness does cause her to be even more wary of Zaku than she might have been under other circumstances. (Although the fact the Naga traded for the women and then chased them down to claim them might have caused the wariness unto itself. Yeah, these Naga are a little feral and a lot wild, so their thought process is entirely unlike a human's. Which means Zaku thought hunting his chosen through the wilds was absolutely acceptable. As was bringing her the head of the one who tried to hurt her. Aren't these guys great?!?!)

Like Gemma, Daisy has to come to the realization that she hasn't been captured by a human male. Zaku's pretty much unsocialized (like ALL the Naga males), so he sometimes doesn't realize that Daisy doesn't see his actions the way he does. But he does try. And she does too. At least once she reaches the headspace where she can see the reasoning behind his actions.

A lot of danger, a house/relay station that raises questions, technology from the past, more than a few sparks, and a slightly feral male who will do anything and everything to keep his special lady safe. *thumbs up*
