Synopsis (Goodreads):
As a bookish, introverted database programmer, Morgen Keller never thought she was a candidate for a midlife crisis. That was before her husband divorced her, her boss let her go, and her grandmother died. Forty wasn’t supposed to look like this.

When Morgen heads up to the small town of Bellrock, Washington, to settle the estate, she looks forward to taking a peaceful break from life and figuring out what she’s going to do next.

But peace isn’t to be had. The old farmhouse is full of witch paraphernalia, a fearsome werewolf has claimed the property, and contrary to what the family was told, Grandma didn’t die of natural causes.

Embroiled in a mystery, and heir to powers she knew nothing about, Morgen must turn to the only person who might be able to help: the werewolf who threatened to rip her throat out for trespassing.

This isn’t the fresh start on life that Morgen had in mind.
Thoughts on Mind Over Magic: A lady going through a bit of a rough spot ends up in a town with some VERY strong supernatural ties and, well, she deals with it a lot better than you'd imagine. Mostly, I think, because Morgen was presented with something fantastical that only had one logical explanation. Since Morgen herself IS logical, she accepted that explanation and everything that went along with it.

I mean, once you see a wolf turn into a man in front of you, you can either live in extreme denial or embrace the weird. Morgen embraced it.

Which isn't to say she didn't hit a few speed bumps along the way to acceptance. She had to wrap her head around her grandmother (and by extension, HER) being a witch. She had to dive deep to accept that there were a lot of secrets that had previously been hidden from her. But she did it and she ended up with a surly, smoldering (extremely non-vegetarian) werewolf living in her barn who sort of clued her in to the ins and outs of this new world she'd discovered.

She got to experience the feud between the witches and the werewolves (one which she isn't really a part of seeing as she wasn't raised a witch and doesn't have that hostility toward the wolves), deal with some underhanded witchiness (on more than one occasion), and figure out how she fits into all of it. Plus, she kind of goes toe to toe with both a witch and a werewolf while barely having a handle on the things she's capable of.

Yup, Morgen might not have expected the weirdness she found, but she's going with it.
