Synopsis (Goodreads):
A tormented past has left Thane with an insatiable need for violence, making him the most dangerous assassin in the skies.
He lives by a single code: no mercy. And as he unleashes his fury on his most recent captor, he learns no battle could have prepared him for the slave he rescues from his enemy's clutches—a beauty who stokes the fires of his darkest desires.

Elin Vale has her own deep-rooted scars, and her attraction to the exquisite warrior who freed her challenges her every boundary.
But Thane's unwavering determination to protect her means she must face her greatest fears—and enter a world in which passion is power, and victory means breathtaking surrender.
Thoughts on Burning Dawn: A Sent One with issues (but, HEY, don't they all have issues?) and a halfling with her own set of issues. Thane's issues have him on the verge of getting his wings clipped (probably not literally, but I could be wrong about that) and have him simmering in a vat of...I don't know, but the guy's a mess. He's a great soldier and a fiercely loyal friend, but he's ten ways to messed up and it's eating at him.

Elin, on the other hand, has a lot of survivor's guilt and grief and fear that if Thane finds out what she is she'll be targeted by him. Which is not a good way to start a healthy relationship. BUT...Elin is also hopeful. She might be tangled up in her own head in the beginning, but she's trying to find a way forward. A kind of messed up way, at first, but she's not stagnating.

Movement is important!

Her actions get Thane start to taking a long look at his own actions. Which is good. Like I said, the guy's sort of a mess and he needs to step back and assess what's going on before he can tackle said mess.

A trio forged in blood and pain and shared torment, a lady who's stronger than she thinks, a demon lord who needs to be taken down a peg or two (or MORE), and a dodge-boulder league with a lot of style. *thumbs up*
