Synopsis (Goodreads):
“At best, it was going to be a very long day. At worst, she might end up in jail for running Luke over with her car.”

Proposal planner Claire Hartley thought calling off her own wedding would be the most traumatic event of her year. But when her ex-college roommate vanishes without a trace and Claire begins receiving mysterious threats, she realizes she has bigger problems.

Could she be the next victim of West Haven’s suspected serial killer?

Her only escape from the imminent danger is her adorably derpy rescue corgi and her job as the city’s most awarded marriage proposal planner. Unfortunately work turns into a war zone when she’s forced to collaborate on the biggest project of her career with a hunky, grumpy filmmaker. In addition to six-pack abs, he’s got one big secret and way too many opinions.

Claire can’t afford to wait for the police to solve this case. The clock is ticking and the threats against her are escalating.

Can her meticulous organizational and research skills help her catch a killer before she becomes the next victim?

Equally important, will she make it through her best friend’s surprise proposal without murdering—or falling for—the annoyingly handsome filmmaker?
Thoughts on Bride or Die: Claire has the type of job that makes her genuinely happy. Planning elaborate wedding proposals for people in love doesn't just pay the bills, but lets her share in each couple's spectacular happily ever after. Given how awful her own proposal was, she's determined that her clients will never have to deal with that level of cringe. (To be fair, the terrible proposal was capped by her now-ex cheating on her with her professional nemesis, so the two as a couple did kind of seem doomed from the start.)

On top of proposal planning, Claire is also dipping her hand in amateur sleuthing. Not because she thinks the cops can't do it (maybe), but because the most recent victim was her college roommate. And with the odd flowers and such she's now dealing with, it's possible she might be on the upcoming victim list herself.

Woven though all this is hunky (and slightly grumpy) filmmaker Luke. He's helping with her current proposal (for one of her BFFs) and he's more than a little invested in making sure she doesn't end up a hashmark on a serial killer's, uhh, killing board. (You get the point, I'M SURE!) Let's just say that Luke does his best to be in the right place at the right time to make sure Claire doesn't end up in a bad way.

Some gloriously over the top proposals, a couple close calls, some verbal sparring that winds both Claire and Luke up, a man who is a little secretive about his upcoming projects, and a lady who isn't about to let some creep end her. GOOD TIMES!
