Synopsis (Goodreads):
AUDITED BY A MONSTER—sounds awful, right?

I knew I shouldn’t have opened my door, but when a seven-foot descendant of a death god comes calling, you answer.

Especially if this Anubis is from the government, but I don’t have anything to hide from the IRS.

Right?

Right?!

Turns out, my mom—a.k.a. my business accountant—does.

Now, every time I turn around, he’s there.

Assessing.

Advising.

Arousing me until I can’t think straight.

But I don’t need a stranger to fix my problems. I’m doing just fine on my own, and I swear the only thing crumbling in my life is the topping on my amazing fruit cobblers.

Will I let Ahnou past the defenses I’ve built around my heart, or is my fall about to get taxing?
Thoughts on Audited by the Anubis: Hunky monsters and the women who complete them are my thing right now. Ahnou and Fern are EXACTLY that. He's hunky and REALLY into Fern. She's a little on edge, has some serious self-esteem issues (for reasons!), and has unwittingly bound herself into a lifelong commitment that is NOT AT ALL HEALTHY. FYI, I'm not talking about any commitments with Ahnou. That lifelong thing is pretty awesome. But her toxic mother and her barf-tastic ex are another story.

Not that Fern's still stuck with the ex. Or at least she wouldn't be if her mom didn't keep pushing her (RELENTLESSLY) to get back together with him. In an act of desperation, Fern tells everyone that Ahnou is her hunny-bunny. Which is potentially a little problematic since he's technically there to audit her.

On Ahnou's end, he's an Anubis who's instantly smitten. While the big guy fails miserably at remaining professional with Fern, he does an admirable job of figuring out what's going on with her finances. This, in turn, triggers a whole other set of issues. Let's just say that Fern's family is not the greatest, Ahnou REALLY enjoys spending time with her, and he's determined to be a gentleman and give her space once everything gets settled on the auditing front.

Noble intentions, but life has other plans.

A VERY sex-ay meet cute, a truly terrible ex, an equally toxic mom, a BFF with secrets, a monster who will do anything for his special someone, and a lady who doesn't realize how special she is until a monster comes knocking on her door.
