Synopsis (Goodreads):
In a magical small town where anything is possible, an enthusiastic librarian looking for a fresh start gets more than she bargained for.Thoughts on Bigfoot and the Librarian: Mystic Springs is one of those little towns that's chock full of secrets. Most of them of the paranormal variety seeing as this is the home of various and sundry witches, monsters, and other creatures straight out of myth. And the new librarian? She's decidedly not of the paranormal variety.
Marnie Somerset’s new job at the Mystic Springs Library seems almost too good to be true. She’s optimistic, always, though a flat tire and a hallucination of Bigfoot crossing the road on her way into town made for less than a stellar start. But the library is fantastic, her new house is charming, and it doesn’t hurt matters that the hot local writer keeps crossing her path. If only someone had told her up front that the last librarian had been murdered…
Clint Maxwell is drawn to Marnie, even though he knows getting involved with a woman from outside Mystic Springs would be a very bad idea. She’s an outsider; she won’t last long in a town awash with magic, especially when so many residents are anxious to send the new librarian on her way.
When the town’s secrets are exposed and Marnie is threatened, Clint is compelled to protect her. Is she meant to be his? Is this the woman he’s been waiting for?
What will she think of him when he reveals his secret.
In fact, Marnie is very human. And she's not sure what to think about the strange things she keeps glimpsing around town. One of those things being Clint. Although he's less of a glimpse and more of a big, broody beast of a man. Yeah, she might look his looks, but she DOES NOT need to start anything with a local while she's barely getting settled in.
On Clint's end, he's a long-time Mystic Springs resident AND the local Bigfoot. He's not thrilled that the town council has hired an outsider, but he's also kind of intrigued by the sweet librarian. He's not necessarily looking to start anything with her, but...oh, heck. Yeah, he is. He's just going to absolutely keep his more beastly side locked down and under control. Probably.
One unwanted monster hunter rolling into town, one very strange welcoming party, a little danger, a broody Bigfoot who doesn't want to like the pretty human who just moved into town, and one lady who has a much more open mind than she thought she did. *thumbs up*
