Synopsis (Goodreads):
Grainy Day Bakery’s biscuits are to die for.Thoughts on Breakfast Included: Emily is caught up in another investigation when she's (a) present when a body is discovered and (b) her friend's delicious biscuits appear to the weapon of choice. Since she can't believe Trish would do someone in with her biscuits (because they're REALLY good biscuits!), she's determined to figure out who did the deed.
Dead bodies are expected in cemeteries, but not simply thrown into an open grave. The newspaper’s notorious food reviewer had plenty of enemies in the small town of Oak Hill, Georgia. Unfortunately, it’s Emily Buchanan’s good friend Trish who is the prime suspect since the biscuits that killed him came from her bakery.
As Emily tries to balance running Eternal Rest Bed and Breakfast and working to bring her late husband’s spirit home, she also has to help clear Trish’s name. After all, someone Emily knows and trusts could never be a killer… could she?
Okay, okay, Emily also doesn't believe Trish could have killed someone because Trish doesn't have it in her to off someone. Probably. Anyway. Emily's on the case which means the bad guy is NOT going to get away with it.
While she's searching for clues and exploring her expanding mediumship talents, Emily is also trying to figure out how to help her late husband cross the barrier surrounding Oak Hill. Seeing as how she only knows there IS a barrier, not why it was put there or how to to work around it, this is a daunting task that doesn't seem to be making much progress. Still, she's determined to do whatever she can to help her husband's spirit.
Again, a fun mystery with some entertaining sleuthing. *thumbs up*
