Synopsis (Goodreads):
Welcome to Nocturne Falls, the town that celebrates Halloween 365 days a year.

Jayne Frost is a lot of things. Winter elf, Jack Frost’s daughter, Santa Claus’s niece, heir to the Winter Throne and now…private investigator. Sort of.

Needing someone he can trust, her father sends her undercover to Nocturne Falls to find out why employees at the Santa’s Workshop toy store are going missing.

Doing that requires getting to know the town, which leads to interesting encounters with a sexy vampire, an old flame, and an elevator that’s strictly off-limits. The more Jayne finds out, the more questions she has, but the answers lead her deeper into danger.

Will her magic save her? Or will she come up cold?
Thoughts on Miss Frost Solves a Cold Case: I like Nocturne Falls. Halloween all year long? YES, PLEASE! Throwing in a seriously Christmas-themed shop in the center of it and having it peopled with Winter Elves adds a new element to this supernatural town. Having Jayne try to unravel a mystery just makes it better.

FYI, I'm torn on the whole Coop/Greyson thing. I like Cooper, but...I think I might be more of a vampire girl this time around. That's not something I say often, so I'm eyeballing Greyson now and wondering if he's going to turn out to have some nefarious plan up his sleeve. *crosses my fingers and hopes not*

Besides dealing with the sexy men hanging around, Jayne's doing her best to piece together what's been happening at Santa's Workshop. The missing elves are worrisome and there certainly *seems* to be something going on. But figuring it out while keeping her cover and subtly ferreting out information from anyone who will stand still long enough is tough.

Good thing Jayne had determination on her side.

All in all, a solid story set in a town I enjoy coming back to. Here's to more quirky adventures with Jayne and her sexy men (I'm still leaning toward the vamp. I'm confused about this, too.).

  1. This sounds pretty good. Is there a love triangle for Jayne? I'm not big on those. It sounds funny mixing Halloween and Christmas together! LOL

    1. I honestly don't remember it being that big a deal. I'm not big on triangles either and I don't remember it bothering me, but I read this quite a while ago and I might have just forgotten.

  2. Totally just downloaded the first book in her Nocturne Falls series based on your review (plus it was free!). It sounds like you had fun with this one.
