Synopsis (Goodreads):
ZADEON
When my human mate was auctioned, she was sold to a savage lot of aliens.
I rescued her body from her tormentors.
But her mind...
She is hurt.
She's afraid I will abandon her; but I've been waiting all my life for my mate.
I am not going to walk away. I'm going to help her heal.
And I will help her fight for us.
Thoughts on Rescued by an Alien: OH, these aliens. There's something about a big, strong fighter dedicating his all to the woman who holds his heart that makes me go gooey. Zadeon is a BEAST. Not physically, necessarily, but he was born to be a fighter and he's darn good at what he does. He kills when he needs to and he's more than happy to mete out punishment to the beings who harmed his mate.

And Callie...she's in a bad place when Zadeon finds her. A bad, bad place. Having been at the mercy of the aliens who bought her (and they weren't the kind-hearted, love-dovey aliens we've come to adore), she's emotionally shredded. Not to mention the physical damage she took.

Just when she's starting to get settled into a sort of quasi-acceptance of her new circumstances, they get tossed into yet another situation. Although, their new accommodations aren't nearly as terrible as what she was forced to endure before, it's still jarring for her. And that bad mental place she's in? Being constantly monitored and watched doesn't help.

And then THINGS HAPPEN. More things. Things that derail her healing just when she's starting to get better.

MAN, I'm digging this series. It's a little dark and a sometimes bloody and I'm just....REALLY liking it.
