Synopsis (Goodreads):
In the world of Harmony, Rainshadow Island is home to a mysterious preserve, secrets that have been kept for centuries, and a treasure worth killing for...

As a light-talent, Alice North has the rare ability to make things disappear, including herself—a gift that comes in handy during her magic act with her dust bunny Houdini.

Business mogul Drake Sebastian is day-blind, since his sight was nearly destroyed in a lab accident. But he’s the one man who can see Alice when she disappears—and he needs her.

On Rainshadow Island, two dangerous Old World crystals are missing, igniting a paranormal storm. Drake thinks Alice is the key to finding them, and proposes they head there, but only after a Marriage of Convenience.

Alice’s honeymoon on Rainshadow is guaranteed to be memorable, as the island—and the passion between her and Drake—is about to explode...
Thoughts on Deception Cove: We're back on Rainshadow (eventually), trying to figure out the secrets of the Preserve (actually, just trying to figure out why the weather is going all haywire) and THINGS ARE COMPLICATED. They're complicated between Drake and Alice. They're complicated by the unnatural weather seeping out of the Preserve. They're complicated by betrayal and danger and secrets popping up all willy-nilly.

To be fair, Alice and Drake knew things would be complicated when they set out to the island. Sure, sure, one might think that Alice might want to choose a different honeymoon destination after what happened during her first honeymoon, but the wedding was unplanned and circumstances called the two of them there. Did you see that part about the dangerous weather? Yeah. It was bad.

Anywho. Alice and Drake might be feeling their way into a relationship (very slowly because what would a guy like Drake want with an orphan like Alice, she thinks), but they're a solid team when it comes to having one another's backs. They also know danger could be lurking around every corner. Which lends a little spice to their joinings, if you know what I mean.

Mutant critters, dangerous terrain, bad guys who won't quit, and more than a few steamy kisses. Rainshadow has a way of bringing unexpected people together and I am here for that!
