Synopsis (Goodreads):
Twelve years ago, Jules Savoie ended her relationship with the vampire overlord of New Orleans, Ruben Dubois. For good reasons. A woman in power must often make sacrifices to protect others. She knows the truth of it down to her aching heart.

When Ruben watches his best friend Devraj get married, a stinging realization hits him hard…he’s done waiting. They say time heals all wounds. In this case, it merely sharpened the pain and made one fact crystal clear. Jules Savoie is his soulmate, and nothing would keep him from her. Not anymore.

Forced to work side by side to fight for the werewolf cause, they campaign together at covens from New Orleans to London. The reignited spark burns hotter than ever before. But when a power-hungry vampire sets his predatory sights on Jules, will their love be strong enough against black magic? Or will he lose her again? And this time, maybe…for good.
Thoughts on Resting Witch Face: It's time for Jules and Ruben to finally cut through all their simmering tension and make things work between them. Again. Well, wait. Not really again. They might have been in a relationship before, but they weren't in the right places for them as a couple the first time. They both had growing to do (of different varieties) and it took a little heartache and some enforced time apart for the both of them to get where they needed to be.

That said, these two SMOKE together. Like, they have enough sparks to power a small city. Or a mid-sized one, really. Ruben made the decision to make sure Jules understood what she meant to him and THINGS HAPPENED. Soon they were tearing up the sheets, having each others' backs, and navigating the tangled politics of supernaturals in Europe.

Did I say tangled? Because wow. There's a lot going on there and much of it isn't good. I mean, not only are these two trying to champion the werewolves so they can take their place among the other supernaturals, there's also a lot of hidden pitfalls they need to navigate. And while some of the people working against their cause are known before they start out, some very much are not.

More than a little danger, unexpected allies, betrayal of the highest order, magic, twisted power, a man who knows his heart when he meets her, and a woman who will do anything to keep her special someone safe. SO GOOD!
