They do a little sleuthing and a little smoldering. Which is a little surprising for Elrik since he's, you know, an ice lord. But he likes Melly and if he's going to heat up for anyone, he's more than happy it's her.
On Melly's end, while her focus is on clearing her grandmother's name, she's not unhappy IN THE SLIGHEST to be spending time with the guy she can't stop thinking about. And if they happen to share a few kisses while investigating, she's FINE with that.
More than a few suspicious characters, a steamy encounter in the church's social room kitchen, a little icy magic, a male who is smitten the moment he lays eyes on his lady (although he ended up a little tongue tied at the time), and a lady who hasn't been able to stop thinking about her ice lord since their first meeting. *thumbs up*
