Synopsis (Goodreads):
When magic strikes and Atlanta goes to pieces, it’s a job for Kate Daniels…

Drafted into working for the Order of Merciful Aid, mercenary Kate Daniels has more paranormal problems than she knows what to do with these days. And in Atlanta, where magic comes and goes like the tide, that’s saying a lot.

But when Kate's werewolf friend Derek is discovered nearly dead, she must confront her greatest challenge yet. As her investigation leads her to the Midnight Games—an invitation only, no holds barred, ultimate preternatural fighting tournament—she and Curran, the Lord of the Beasts, uncover a dark plot that may forever alter the face of Atlanta's shapeshifting community…
Thoughts on Magic Strikes: Oh, my dear lord. *eyes the missed opportunity to call out Curran's name and bravely steps away from my inner punner* I just... *flaily hands* I am SO enjoying this reread. Like, ridiculous amounts. PAINFULLY RIDICULOUS AMOUNTS!

The dynamic between Kate and Curran. FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THINGS FURRY, JUST BONE ALREADY! (no, don't. I like the weird mating dance you two are doing. It makes me giddy.) The way Kate pushes Curran past the point any rational person would. Then she goes and pushes him even further. Kate's brand of crazy works for me.

And Curran allows it. As much as it irritates him and pushes all his buttons, HE ALLOWS IT. And I love that.

Okay. Enough about Curran and Kate. There WERE other people in this book. Like Derek. POOR DEREK. And Jim (JIM AND DALI!). AND CURRAN CALLED KATE HIS FUTURE MATE! Heeeeee! So much love. SO MUCH. (but poor Derek. I want to cuddle that poor boy.)

In case you missed it, I'm loving this series on the reread. LOVING IT. You can tell by the random caps locking I'm engaging in as I write this review.

ONWARD!
