Synopsis (Goodreads):
I’m the master of my world.
A ruler from the skies of a lost planet.
The ship captain who watches from above.
Until an alien invades my heart and everything changes.

She’s from another world and doesn’t want saving, for she’s on a quest of her own.
Feisty and fiery, she burns bright like the sun.
I crave to capture her and keep her.
To hold the sparkling female in my arms forever, uncaring if I get burned.

A chance mission given by my commander has us sequestered on the Mayvina all alone.
I only have a few solars to prove to her how good we can be together.
It’s simple to me: handsome mort plus lovely alien equals mates forever. Right?

Wrong.

Nothing I say or do has an effect. She’s as stubborn as I am good looking.
She’s the one thing I can’t control. A star shooting across the sky, never meant to be caught.

But I will catch her heart.
It’s written in the stars.

We can be more than a space fling.
We can be everything.

I just have to convince her first.
Thoughts on The Rogue Captain: I don't know what it is about these Morts, but they are just THE BEST. Even when they're being a wee bit arrogant about their prowess (whether in pleasuring their lady friends or flying across the planet), they're just artlessly sweet and adorable.

Considering they're basically space vampires (who don't live in space), that says a lot.

Theron is...well, he's arrogant and kind of obsessed with his looks and I COMPLETELY LOVE HIM FOR IT. I mean, the guy likes himself. A LOT. He knows what he's capable of and he's not afraid to tell those around him. OFTEN. And yet it never comes across as douchey. He's just a confident, good looking, devoted dude.

Which is something Willow has to figure out. His boastful statements are simply statements of fact for him. Once he gets Willow in his arms, she's ALL he sees. She becomes his center and that's hard for her to believe because she hasn't been anyone's center since her mother was taken away when she was a kid.

Some big things happen in this book. Things that could put everybody on Mortuus in danger if the Morts and humans can't figure out how to counter it. To say I'm waiting with slightly wild eyes for the next book (and any and all after that) would be an understatement. I'm loving these characters and this world and all the crazy that goes along with it.
