Synopsis (Goodreads):
It should have been simple…
Work together, find the cure. Save our people.
Except nothing with these aliens is simple.

Especially not an alien like him: Dr. Avrell Dracarion.
Rude. Arrogant. Ripped.

He treats me like a child, but he certainly doesn’t look at me like one.
Beneath those filed down fangs and carefully manicured claws, there’s a beast lurking, waiting to claim me as his mate.

I won’t be claimed by anyone, least of all a jerk like him.
Thoughts on The Arrogant Genius: Heh. Avrell and Zoe have had a sort of...let's say they've had an adversarial relationship since Avrell first stepped into the prison. He's focused and expects to be obeyed since he's the resident genius and she's willing to work with him as his equal, not as his lackey. The thing is, I totally get where both of them are coming from. Avrell has seen the devastation the Rades can cause and he's determined to keep what few survivors they have left from succumbing to it. On Zoe's end, she's endured the worst the universe could throw at her and survived and Avrell's arrogance and not-so-great bedside manner grate on her in a big way.

But she's also willing to do pretty much anything to keep the survivors alive.

Which make her and Avrell a perfect match in that regard. You know, if they can get past the sniping and verbal skirmishes that erupt whenever they're in the room together. And when they finally do give in...BOOM! Things happen!

Beyond their quest for a cure, bad guys are on their way to cause some wide-scale destruction (which we really don't get to see since a lot of it happens off-page to the others) and the survivors (and families) of the original group are dealing with things on that end. There's only one Mort left who hasn't been paired up and...*excited eyes*...possibly a chance for some more adventures on this gloriously broken world. (For the record, I would be down with that in a BIG way.)

Foreplay verbal warfare, actual warfare, excellent news on the search for a cure, and potential for the future. I am SO in. *thumbs up*
