Jolene Bails may come off as a tough-as-nails, no-nonsense kind of woman, but underneath it all, she has a softer side. Now that she has a Secret Santa, who seems to know her well, she finds herself opening to the idea of wanting more from life. But first, she has to figure out who is leaving her mysterious gifts and why it is Wil, her old flame, is acting so strange.
So. Wil and Jolene have a past. They've been circling cautiously around one another since they were first introduced and Wil's finally getting the kick in the pants he needed to make his move. A potential suitor for his lady friend does wonders for motivation, doesn't it?
As for Jolene, she might not be actively encouraging Wil, but he's always held a special place in her heart. It just seemed like they'd missed their chance once upon a time and it was something she'd have to deal with. Until, you know, she didn't.
A lot of familiar faces, a sprinkle of holiday cheer, and a couple of meddling family members. Wil and Jolene get their second chance and they grab it with both hands. *thumbs up*
