Synopsis (Goodreads):
Dean is certain that fake dating the cute owner of his new bakery investment could be messy…but messy can be fun.

Norah Donahue wants bakeries not babies, but her matchmaking mother won't stop trying to play Cupid.

Dean Moser is a cocky stock market savant whose friends are all settling down, leaving Boulder's infamous ladies' man all alone.

When Norah needs a fake date for her parents' anniversary party, her new silent investor is the perfect guy for the job. It seems like a foolproof plan...

That is until Norah decides to break her biggest rule and lock lips with Dean in the middle of the party to spite her meddling mother.

Turns out that Dean and Norah's chemistry is sizzling hot, and mixing business with pleasure could turn out to be a recipe for disaster.

Or maybe they can have their cake and eat it too.
Thoughts on Take a Number: Oh man. This time around we have Dean, the guy who dates A LOT, and Norah, a baker (and business owner) extremely dedicated to her bakery and vision of future business endeavors who doesn't have time to invest in relationships. These two are VERY different and yet they work so VERY well together.

To be clear, Dean's serial dating isn't relationshippy in the slightest. He sort of hops from girl to girl in a cycle of shallow hook ups. His BFFs (Kate and Lynsey) are pushing him to find someone he actually wants to date instead of someone to hook up with and Dean sort of pushes back against that. Which leads to his brilliant idea to fake date Norah. Because, you know, he likes her sass and figures her declaration that she's not interested in a relationship means they can both have fun without getting too invested.

As for Norah, she has an overbearing mother who is PUSHING her toward a childhood friend and mama won't listen to Norah's NOs. So taking Dean as a date to her parents' wedding anniversary is the perfect way to head off her mom's matchmaking. I mean, Dean's known for dating around, so there's NO CHANCE he'll catch feelings, right?

HAHAHA. Yeah, no. They both catch said feelings and they both freak out about them. And when their fake relationship becomes physical...YEAH. Feelings. Steamy looks. Making out in unconventional places.

A little subterfuge, a love of power ballads, croinuts, a couples getaway, and two people who have to figure things out before things fall apart. *thumbs up*
