Synopsis (Goodreads):
Small town deputy Cassidy Tucker's dating life is a train wreck on repeat. All she ever wanted was a solid partner. A man to share pajamas with. The handsome, big-hearted Bowie Bodine. Wait. Scratch that. Mr. You're-Like-a-Sister-to-Me is not welcome in her fantasies.

She and Bowie aren't going to happen—that's been clear for a long time—and as for the rest of mankind? Cassidy's officially giving up on love and adopting cats. Good thing the cold case disappearance of Callie Kendall is heating up to keep her distracted. Except the investigation is testing her friendship with all the Bodines—Bowie in particular.

Bowie knows he can't have his little sister's best friend. He made a promise and he's determined to keep it. But putting distance between them isn't easy—not when she lives right next door.

Having her poke around trying to prove his father's guilt isn't helping either. All Bowie has ever wanted is to shed the No-Good Bodine reputation. It's looking like he'll never be free of that shadow.

But one nocturnal animal, a feverish against-the-wall kiss, and absolutely zero pajamas has a way of changing everything.
Thoughts on Moonshine Kiss: Cassidy and Bowie are up and I AM READY FOR THEM. Cass is Scarlett's best friend (and general voice of reason) and Bowie has firmly put Cass in the do-not-touch zone despite how very VERY badly he wants to touch like you wouldn't believe. His mixed signals confuzzle Cass and she's pretty much put the idea of her and Bowie on the backburner since it doesn't look like it's ever going to happen.

But then...BUT THEN...well, let's just say that sharing the wall of a duplex leads to some late night shenanigans. I mean, sure, it took a nocturnal critter to get them moving in the right direction plus a heart-to-heart from the sheriff (who happens to be Cass's dad) and a proverbial kick in the pants from various family members, but these two got where they needed to be.

That said, they did try to do the dating on the down low thing for a while. Because Cass's job situation was sticky with the investigation into papa Bodine's potential involvement in Callie's disappearance. But the people of Bootleg Springs had their back when it came down to it.

A whole lot of secret (and more than a few not-so-secret) kisses, an investigation that offers up more questions, meddling friends and family, a man who realizes what he could lose before it's too late, and a lady who has to figure out how to balance her need for justice against the bonds of friendship and compassion. Yesssssss.
