Synopsis (Goodreads):
She hated him the moment they met.

Burned by love, Lettie is finally ready to date again after a long, self-imposed hiatus from men. But Vore is everything Lettie abhors. The arrogant prick with his big—um, ah—ego is a self-proclaimed ladies’ man and totally not her type. And her body totally doesn’t tingle every time he flashes her his fangs. Nope!

“Love them and leave them.”

That’s what Vore has always said. Why play with feelings when the females he meets only think of mercenaries as one-night stands? Vore lives for the chase, so when the tiniest human female he had ever met tells him off and claims he’s not her type, Vore takes it as a challenge to get her in his bed. And Vore always gets what he wants!

With only a few days before his ship leaves the colony for the next mission, will Vore be able to win Lettie’s heart and teach her to love again? Or will he steal her away and claim her as his mate?
Thoughts on A Promise for Vore: Vore ended up being a victim of his success with the ladies when it came to Lettie. He'd been sampling the local delicacies (so to speak) until he scented her and Lettie was IN NO WAY interested in a ladies man like Vore. So she did her level best to keep away from him so she wouldn't be tempted.

Except... Tallean culture is a little different from human culture and Vore's love 'em and leave 'em lifestyle was more common than Lettie realized. Add in the fact that once he met her he knew she was special to him AND the fact that mate bonds don't allow mates to stray and Lettie had to wrap her head around the fact that just because a Tallean was joyful with others in the past doesn't mean they have the capacity to cheat once they met their special someone.

In other words, Lettie's fears that Vore would grow bored of her and start cheating once the bloom was off the rose were rooted more in her own experiences than anything else. It was only a matter of time before Lettie realized it.

On Vore's end, knowing Lettie is special from the start is one thing. Convincing the wary woman is another. And then there's the issue of his imminent departure once his ship returns. Let's just say Vore has a few things to figure out and Lettie is at the center of all of them.

A little danger puts everything in perspective for both of them and it isn't long before they're both exactly where they need to be. Which is with one another. In case that wasn't clear. *thumbs up*
