Synopsis (Goodreads):
What’s a hardworking MagiPol agent need to do to get a little R&R?

Between Agent Söze, the treacherous Internal Affairs tyrant who’s taken over my precinct, and the super illegal sorcery my partner Lienna was hiding in said precinct—which is now missing—my usual routine of busting magical criminals has fallen apart in favor of hectic damage control.

But that went out the window too when a respected Guild Master was found dead. Agent Söze is trying to cover it up, which is all the reason I need to make solving the murder my top priority.

Except now Agent Söze is trying to arrest and/or kill me. Not entirely unexpected, but both dangerous and highly irritating.

With the clock ticking on the next mysterious Guild Master murder, Lienna and I have to find a way to prove Agent Söze is behind it all. We need rock-solid evidence to bring him down, which is kind of tricky when crooked agents, shady allies, and cutthroat assassins keep complicating matters.

And if we don’t get to the bottom of it fast, my next day off will be in the morgue as another corpse to be swept under the corruption rug.
Thoughts on Stolen Sorcery & Other Misadventures: Just when you think things can't get any worse for Kit and Lienna...actually, I don't think I want to say "worse". More like, intense. Things are intense. I mean, they're figuring out that there are some demons who might not be so bad while also being on the run from their own department because it's been taken over by a human who is WAY worse than any demon. So, yeah. Things are intense and a little chaotic and Kit's scrambling to keep up.

Which says a lot.

With Agent Söze in charge of the precinct, Kit and Lienna are trying to piece together what he has planned without relying on (a) a lot of their usual artifacts and (b) their fellow MagiPol agents. Because, unfortunately, they don't know who to trust to be on their side and so have to play it safe and not trust anybody.

No lie, there's A LOT going on. Lienna is dealing with some personal things on top of investigating the corruption at the precinct. Kit is trying to see the big picture from the scraps of information while also trying to figure out what's up with Lienna. There are hits out on them, danger around every corner, and enemies and allies have become muddled.

A whole lot of danger, a little camaraderie, a truly heinous coffee drink, and unexpected magic. MAN, these two are tangled up in something big.
