Synopsis (Goodreads):
An Ill Advised Rescue is the Kate Daniels short story, set a few weeks before the events of Magic Rises.
The story begins when Kate receives a phone call from the Guild informing that Saiman has been kidnapped...
Thoughts on An Ill-Advised Rescue: Oh, boy. Saiman has a way of bringing out some strong emotions in both Kate and Curran. It's no wonder Kate chose to keep her mouth shut about this particular rescue.

That said, Kate is pretty darn kick-ass when she goes in. The lady intimidates well. It might be the sword. Or her growly backup. EITHER WAY. She has some pretty fancy moves for a lady who's trying to fly under the radar. To be honest, I'm not sure if Kate's idea of "under the radar" and mine are exactly the same.

Not that it matters in the end. Kate steps in and she does what needs to be done. And the payment she extracts is sweet indeed. Favors, man. Such a terrifying piece of currency when dealing with Kate.

As always, I love all the little glimpses and jaunts into this messed up world. Here's to many more!
