Synopsis (Goodreads):
My indentured servitude is almost over and freedom is a heartbeat away!Thoughts on His Human Nanny: I was looking for a low angst alien romance (don't ask. apparently I have very specific tastes sometimes) and Aegir and Riley slid onto my Kindle and BOOM I was there. While these two are given a little danger for them to maneuver around and they have a few complications to them being together (at least at first), they definitely fit the bill overall.
Until some alien guy buys me because he needs a nanny, quick. What the actual f@ck? I’m not even good with kids. I’ve never changed a diaper in my life. But the beings at the employment agency won’t listen. “Hew-mans are hot right now. Everyone wants a hew-man nanny.” Great. And since there isn’t another human available… I’m hired on the spot.
Yay, me.
And on day one of my new job I’m having a panic attack because I finally meet my new boss and he looks like Satan himself. No lie. Black horns, red eyes and glinting silver-tipped claws. He even has a barbed tail, a forked tongue, and he breathes fire. This guy is terrifying, and his children look exactly like him.
*heart palpitations* *hyperventilating*
And yet, as I’m caring for these strangely adorable infants and gazing longingly at my crazy-rich boss as he cradles his twin babies in his huge, muscular arms… my traitorous heart goes pitter-patter and my body heats up like lava.
Oh no.
And I begin to wonder — have I sold my soul to the devil?
Where to being. Riley doesn't know how NOT to do her best when it comes to her job. Even if it's outside her specialty and she's angry at the employment agency for continuing to extend her contract. She dives into this new assignment with gusto and showers her new baby charges with love. After she gets over the shock of them fire breathing and all.
As for Aegir, he's embroiled in a situation he doesn't want any part of...except it brought his babies into his life. So he's dealing. Riley helps him immensely and he's wicked attracted to her from the first. But the aforementioned situation comes with complications and he HAS to stay away from her. At least until things are settled on the situation front.
We're given a little longing, a little danger, and a whole lot of simmering looks. Which absolutely worked for me. *thumbs up*
