Synopsis (Goodreads):
I know what they see when they look at me. The charming, soft-spoken dragoness bred from the most powerful of royal bloodlines. A disguise stronger than any battle shield that allows me to keep all suitors at tail’s length. A technique that’s worked until him. Until Ragnar the Cunning, handsome barbarian warlord and warrior mage from the desolate Northlands. Unlike those who’ve come before him, he does not simply submit to my astounding charm and devastating smile. Instead, he dismisses me as vapid, useless and, to my great annoyance, rather stupid!

Yet I’ll allow no male to dismiss me. Soon he’ll learn my worth, my many skills, and the strength of my will. For this one challenges me enough to make me want to ruthlessly taunt him, tease him and, finally, when the trap is set, bring him to his knees.
Thoughts on Last Dragon Standing: It's Keita's turn to take front and center and it turns out she's not exactly what she pretends to be. Sure, sure, she likes to play and she's has fun with various men, but there's a whole lot more than a vapid noble-dragon under her smile.

In fact, she plays her part so well that she fools Ragnar -- a dragon who's known for his cunning -- into seeing just that. It takes a while for him to realize that there's more going on that Keita lets on. And BOY does he apologize well when it comes down to it. To be fair, it helps that Keita's not one to hold a grudge (excluding her sibling-brawls with Morfyd) unlike OTHER dragons we might know.

So. There are political maneuverings going on. There are dangerous beings on the move. And, as always, the gods are wandering around poking their noses into things all willy-nilly. Oh, and let me mention the twins. That would be Fearghus and Annwyl's little terrors, in case you missed all that craziness. THOSE KIDS. They're a terrifying cross between the royal dragon siblings (with all the brawling and plotting that come with them) and Annwyl, the Blood Queen. Which means they're bloodthirsty little creatures who are always on the go. HA. (In other words, they're fun and slightly terrifying and I kinda love reading about them.)

A little betrayal, a lot of plotting, a bet or two, a dragoness who isn't afraid to go after what she wants, and a dragon who gives good grovel when he realizes he's wronged someone. GOOD STUFF!
