Synopsis (Goodreads):
Lacey 'Pink' Pinkerton has left behind a six figure job and her reputation as the million dollar nose—a nickname her super sense of smell earned her within the perfume industry. With her pet crow Kingston and a tabby cat named Nevermore, she is settling right into her new life in the small coastal town of Port Danby. With a flower shop opening soon and a full cast of quirky neighbors and friends, her new digs are exactly what she's been looking for. Away from the hectic hustle and bustle of the city Lacey has found peace and happiness. However, her heightened sense of smell proves to be of use once again when a Port Danby neighbor turns up dead. Lacey finds herself caught up in an unexpected murder investigation alongside the handsome local detective, James Briggs. She’s determined to find the killer and solve the murder mystery before any more bodies turn up.
Thoughts on Marigolds and Murder: I met the quirky Lacey Pinkerton when she took a little trip into Firefly Junction and...I liked the vibe she had going with Sunni. Which means, quite naturally, I wanted to see her on her home turf and, thus, the Port Danby journey began.

So. A spectacular nose, a flower shop, a pet crow, a BFF across the way, and a hunky detective who doesn't give Lacey tooooooo hard a time when she unexpectedly shows up during investigations. Probably because her fantastic sniffer helps him out on more than one occasion.

On the downside, sniffing out clues can be wearing especially when dealing with bodies. And when doesn't a flower shop owner in a quirky seaside town deal with bodies? (The answer is OFTEN! They often deal with dead bodies. SO MANY DEAD BODIES.)

Port Danby is fun. I want more on the deserted house up the street and maybe less on the handsome neighbor (not his fault, but the fault of one hunky detective). Overall, though, a fun read!
