Synopsis (Goodreads):
Sunni Taylor is moving forward on the remodel of the Cider Ridge Inn. She is anxious to start her bed and breakfast business. Unfortunately, the inn is not cooperating. It seems she is hit with one catastrophe after another. This time it's the plumbing. She's able to earn some extra money working for her sister's party business, but it's just not enough to keep up with the flow of unforeseen problems.

Sunni's best friend, Raine, invites her along on a spooky campout where the locals gather annually hoping to spot the ghost of the infamous serial killer, Septimus Hagwood. Sunni decides it will be a fun diversion from her financial troubles, and, if she's lucky, she'll get a newspaper story out of it. And what a story she finds! When one of the campers is found dead in Hagwood's old smokehouse, the campers are frightened out of their wits. And rightfully so. Sunni doesn't just have a story to write, she has a murder to solve. With the help of the devilishly handsome Detective Jackson . . . of course.
Thoughts on Trick or Trouble: Sunni just can't catch a break can she? Or maybe finding dead bodies is exactly the type of break she's looking for. Since, you know, she gets to spend time with her hunky detective honey while finding justice. Either way, this lady finds more dead people than Jessica Fletcher.

This time the dead body is found during a serial killer campout. Which sounds weird and a little macabre, but that's what it was. A campout to view the home of a man who killed several women ages ago. Actually, it was to tell scary stories and view the smokehouse where he stored the bodies.

Sunni being Sunni jumps in and ferrets out clues to help Jax on the case. On the plus side, she wasn't nearly killed during this investigation. In fact, other than following a sketchy dude around town, she played things mostly safe.

A little intrigue, Jax and Edward sniping at one another, some financial and employment woes, and a Halloween-themed killing. I'm enjoying the Jax and Edward dynamic and am VERY happy Sunni and Jax are back together again.
