Synopsis (Goodreads):
Resonance.

It’s a given on the ice planet, forced upon you by the parasitic symbiont called the ‘khui’. With resonance, a guy and a girl are paired up because they’ll make great babies. It’s a survival mechanism necessary for this sparsely-populated world we’re stranded on…and romantic, in a weird, alien way.

Everyone expects resonance to happen when twenty newcomers are dropped onto the frosty world. I doubt anyone expects the gorgeous, golden god named Ashtar to resonate to someone like me, though. He’s fierce. Flirty. Powerful. Disgustingly handsome.

I’m…not any of those things. I’m bland. Boring. Clumsy.

But resonance seems to think we’d be great together. And Ashtar does, too…
Thoughts on Veronica's Dragon: I am SMITTEN with the dragons, people. Smitten. I mean, I liked them from the Fireblood series, but Ashtar's clueless, flirty come-ons were HILARIOUS. And the fact he just didn't see a problem with announcing that he was wearing a loincloth specifically because he was told he had to before he could mate with Veronica just made it better.

Artless aliens announcing what was on their mind so they can get into a girl's panties are my thing, apparently.

Unfortunately for Ashtar, it takes Veronica a while to get on the same page. Like the other humans, she doesn't have some sixth sense about who her special someone is. And getting used to having a cootie that chooses her special someone for her? Yeah, that takes some doing.

Despite his warrior-like tendencies to charge in and stake a claim, Ashtar does give her the time she needs to come to grips with everything. Plus, there's the whole thing with giving her his fires and all. Bonding to a Drakoni is a little different from the other aliens we've met.

I'm enjoying the Icehome series and getting to see the beginning of this group coming together. With twenty rescued newcomers and a handful more individuals coming from the island, the original struggling tribe has expanded greatly. What was once a dying group is now thriving and I'm loving where this spin-off series is going.
