Synopsis (Goodreads):
I'm not supposed to resonate to him.

It's been a few years since I've landed here on Icehome Beach, and as resonance after resonance dwindled the list of bachelors, I knew who I'd end up with. As soon as we got past our differences, I'd end up as R'jaal's mate.

On an everyday excursion, however, my khui decides otherwise. It sings all right...but not to R'jaal. Instead, I resonate to I'rec - the forceful, brash, overly-alpha leader of Shadow Cat. Did I mention he's got a long-distance girlfriend already?

It's a big mess, and it's about to get messier.

But as things get chaotic on the beach and our way of life is threatened with upheaval, it's the small things that end up mattering. Small things like the way I'rec kisses. Or the way we seem to have a lot more in common than we thought. Or the way I'rec can be gentle, but only with me...
Thoughts on Flor's Fiasco: At long, LONG last grumpy, slightly surly I'rec resonates to someone. And it's absolutely NOT the person he expected to resonate to. Which honestly causes a few hiccups with the group dynamic, but nothing insurmountable. Also, as we all know, resonance chooses and it rarely picks the wrong person.

That said, Flor had some issues she had to work her head around before she fell into her blissful HEA. For one, she's convinced I'rec is still pining for Tia even though he repeatedly tells Flor she's the one for him. Fortunately for Flor, I'rec is VERY good at showing her how much he cares. You know, in a multiple times per night sort of way.

Outside of our snarky couple, there are also some THINGS that happen (the culmination of a little illegal clone/slavery ring busting and whatnot) that opens up a lot of doors for the future. So many doors. (In other words, don't be worried for R'jaal and Tia and their perpetual singlehood because change is in the air and anything is possible.) (Seriously, ANYTHING.)

An unexpected delivery, a little tension, a LOT of unwinding, and a very intriguing path forward for the inhabitants of Not-Hoth. For all our peeps are trapped on an ice planet, their world just keeps getting bigger and I am SO here for that.
