Synopsis (Goodreads):
I fear I've made a mistake.

I left a pampered life and a loveless relationship to live on an icy, primeval world, all for the promise of a soulmate and children. But three years have passed, and my hopes and dreams have become dashed. I haven't resonated. Without resonance, there will be no children for me, and no loving mate.

So I keep waiting, and waiting...

But then I come up with a brilliant plan to get me everything I want. And my plan needs a volunteer, one that would be happy to be my mate in all ways. Luckily, I know just who to approach...
Thoughts on Daisy's Decision: It's Daisy's time to shine and, well, she miiiight have a little baggage she needs to work on ridding herself of. But, then, O'jek also has a few issues, doesn't he? Fortunately, the two already have the friends thing going for them before they, err, dive into Daisy's idea, so that helps a little.

Which isn't to say things are easy. At all. Daisy's been conditioned to believe she's nothing more than a pretty face and to be anything BUT pretty will get her cast aside. Which means she holds herself apart from the daily running of the tribe and is functionally useless when it comes to most survival things. Which sounds harsh, but Daisy was trained to be sweet and ladylike, so getting dirty (which is the usual course of business when you're building fires and scraping hides) is a big no-no in her head.

Meanwhile, O'jek wants more for her than to be a simple decoration. He wants her to learn to fend for herself. He wants her to become part of the tribe in more than just word. He also ADORES her. The fact they haven't resonated doesn't matter to him. He loves everything about her. From her sweetness to the scars she received saving one of the kiddos from the fire. She's it for him, resonance or not.

We get a rather awkward first time, a newfound section of the fruit cave (which, to be SUPER BLUNT, has me hoping they explore some of the hidden underpinnings of that place because I love forgotten, sometimes broken things and I want more), abandonment issues, found (and blood) family, and two people who make things work despite the odds. I always enjoy time spent with the IPB, so bring on the next book!
