Synopsis (Goodreads):
No one ever comes back for me.

I’ve always been on my own, and why should it be any different on an ice planet? So when I’m kidnapped by a feral outcast, I suspect I’d better learn to love raw fish and rough living.

Then…U’dron comes to my rescue.

He’s always understood me more than anyone else. He’s been my friend and my confidante. We’ve made music together. And now that he’s my hero? The crush I’ve had on him is turning into something more, something deeper. He won’t want me when he hears my terrible secrets, though.

But it turns out that U’dron has a secret of his own…
Thoughts on Raven's Return: Raven, the hippie-esque peace-nik of the group, got herself into a bit of a pickle. I'm not even talking about being kidnapped by an outcast, either (which is a problem unto itself). See, she didn't want to admit to what she did and who she was before she got abducted, so she invented a new persona on Icehome and now her little white lie is eating at her.

Oh, and there's the whole kidnapped by an outcast thing. Which isn't all that fun, but it also isn't nearly as terrible as it could have been. And look! Fresh blood to add to the group. (Eventually. Eventualllllly.)

But let's get back to Raven and U'dron. While the humans have had to adapt to a new planet and a new way of life, the same is true (minus the planet, but plus a new climate) for those from the island. U'dron and his tribe (and ALL the tribes, really) are still living by the old rules and they kinda have to readjust their way to thinking since everything they knew from before is gone now. The old rules don't necessarily apply and they have to figure out how to make things work in the here and now.

That means trying new ways of doing things and figuring out that ALL the people on Icehome are in the same situation they're in. They still have their tribes and traditions, but...it feels like things might be loosening up.

The point? Secrets and white lies and little untruths get aired and everybody gets a fresh start. And Raven and U'dron get to connect in that special Icehome way. GOOD STUFF!
