Thoughts on Shock at the Sweetheart Ball: I will admit to having a love/hate relationship with the end of a series. I hate to see a series end when I've enjoyed it as much as I've enjoyed this one, but I do love when all those loose ends get tied up. Not that there were a TON of loose ends here, but we got resolution on THINGS and YESSSS!

First off, Sunni is doing her thing and helping investigate an unexpected death. To be fair, the death might not have been THAT unexpected since the person who met their untimely end was kind of horrible. In every way. Which means there were a fair amount of suspects. While Jax is doing his official investigating, he and Sunni are comparing notes and sliding potential clues at one another for follow-up. Which is cute. Because the couple who sleuths together and all that.

That said, Sunni and Jax did hit a bit of a bump in their relationship. Of the "are things going to move forward" variety. Jax has some hang ups about Edward's presence. Sunni is a little miffed that the thought of them taking the next step seems to spook Jax. It's something they both have to deal with and they do. Eventually.

A little mysticism, a long-awaited meeting, some relationship shenanigans, and a really sweet ending. Like I said, I'm sad to say goodbye, but I'm happy with how everything turned out.

Thoughts on Welcome to Gothic: I thought this was a stand-alone novella and I am DELIGHTED to see it's only the introduction to the town of Gothic. Because this story? Was goooood.

One of those quirks (or maybe two of them) sends Wendy back to the 40s where she meets a man who is everything she never knew she wanted and then some. The problem? He's an actor with a tragic past and a future that takes place before Wendy was born. Which makes their connection a little problematic.

Thoughts on Alien Warlord's Miracle: I didn't know how much I wanted an alien from the future to travel through time to find his special someone until I started reading this book. The fact that Reven is horned and looks a little beast-like and Elizabeth is totally fine with that made it even better.

I do enjoy when two opposites attract. And when aliens go all protective when they meet their mate. And when humans are a-okay with aliens who look decidedly un-human.

GOOD STUFF.

Beyond all that, we have a widow trying to find her center again and an alien who might desperately hope for a love-match, but who's resigned himself to a genetically compatible one at best.

Time travel. Aliens. Windswept moors. A kinda gross neighbor (in more ways than one). Love, acceptance, and finding a home in unexpected places. Like I said, GOOD STUFF!

Thoughts on The Spellslinger: Messed up timelines and gods gone wild and CRAZINESS of the highest order...yessssssss. I always know I'm going to get a whole lot of insanity when I pick up a S.M. Reine book and this fractured timeline is certainly holding up to that.

Lincoln and Sophie are caught in the middle of something insanely huge. Their foray into the past has far-reaching consequences and their capture by the Union leaves them little wiggle room for fixing it. As an aside, the Union has more than their fair share of jerks working for it. Just, SO MANY JERKS.

On the other end of the craziness, James and Elise are not who they need to be yet to defeat Adam. Given that James is literally divided between two aspects and Elise is trapped in a nightmare of godly proportions, I mean this in the most fundamental sense. Elise doesn't know of all the strings James has been manipulating through her life and James is equal parts obsessed and driven depending on which aspect you're talking to.

To say things are complicated and twisted and downright bizarre at times would be an understatement.

BUT...all this does bring Lincoln one step closer to being the Brother Marshall we met in the future. Things might be insane and complex, but they're putting Lincoln (and Sophie, I presume) where he needs to be and that's a good thing. I think.

Crazy. Intense. Weird. Monstrous. World-ending. Everything I enjoy when I step into the Decentverse.

Thoughts on Stars Across Time: Two things: This cover makes me weirdly happy and SEX-AY SCI-FI YASSSSSS! (I almost feel like I should stop this review here because it can't get any better than bellowing in all caps. CAN IT?!?!)

(Spoiler: It can.)

Okay. So things didn't start out too smoothly between Theron and Andie. You know, because he's one of the kidnappers and everything. But sometimes you have to go with your gut and trust someone who looks like a savage even though he hasn't really done anything to indicate he's going to be a better choice than the other men. I mean, he tried to protect the women kidnapped, but his hands were tied to a point and it's hard to be a good guy when you're playing a bad guy. You know what I mean? No? It's cool. Just roll with it.

Just know that Andie and Theron have their moments. Good moments. They have to trust one another in several sticky situations and they get to do it with style. Sometimes naked style. Because that happens.

What can I say? I like slightly broken worlds. I like good guys trying to make that world better. I like kick-ass women. *thumbs up all around*

Thoughts on Kiss Across Deserts: Flat out, Tracy Cooper-Posey writes some SEX-AY men. Alexander and Rafael get high HIGH marks for sheer smolderability. By that same token, Sydney has to be strong and sexy in her own right to take on two men who have been around for centuries.

Things I loved: Seeing Brody, Veris and Taylor again. The men dispensing advice to Alexander about going with his instincts and his heart made me a little wibbly. B, V, and T as a family unit made me wibbly. THEIR KIDS MADE ME WIBBLY.

More things I loved: Alexander, Rafael and Sydney coming to terms with the unconventionality (by modern human standards) of their relationship. It's a hard, bumpy road to get them to a place where they can all admit that there's something between the three of them, but well worth it. And, oh, my heart hurt for Alexander. He was so close to having it all and then it was ripped away by jealousy and doubt and it HURT. But it all worked out in the end, so I got over the hurt. After a while.

As always, Tracy Cooper-Posey has given us a tangled, complex tale of love and heartache wrapped up in time travel. There's more going on than just romance, however, as the three of them (along with their friends) have to uncover plots and tangled time threads to keep them all safe.

Thoughts on Romani Armada: Once again, vampire time travel menage books are AWESOME and they give me a big case of the happies. Heck, I'd be thrilled if it was just about vampires sexin' each other up as they travel through time but this book has SO MUCH MORE.

Danger! Adventure! Hot threesomes! MORE DANGER! And a really shifty bunch of individuals who are determined to strike the vampires where it hurts them most.

Deonne, Adan and Justin. Not going to lie, they were pretty freaking hot together. Any permutation of the three as a couple was sweetly hot but it wasn't until they came together as a triad that things really started steaming.

As much as this is Deonne, Adan, and Justin's story, there is so much more going on. Ryan and Nayara are trying to rebuild the Agency after a devastating attack all while coping with being without their third. Tally, Rob, and Christian are dealing with the kidnapping of their baby. Another layer of intrigue is introduced when more secrets are unearthed that could rock the entire world.

The action is fast-paced and the danger is very real for these vampires. As powerful as they are, they haven't faced a real threat in a long time and it takes the combined talents of vampires, humans and psi to begin to put things right. Frankly, they're not there yet. It looks like it's going to be a long, hard fight before them and I, for one, am excited.

Thoughts on Byzantine Heartbreak: Holy crumb, this book was emotionally wrenching. Is it just me or does the thought of two people lingering for TWO HUNDRED years without one another hurt? That Salathiel really did a number on poor Nayara and Ryan. Shattering the trust of your menage by attempting to destroy life as we know it isn't something that's easy to get past.

Seriously, I'm still a little flaily. Nayara and Ryan have all this history together. Six hundred years as lovers and two hundred as lost souls. That's a lot of anniversaries. The twist of fate that gives vampires crystal clear memories makes it hard for them to get past what they had to do to right the wrongs Salathiel caused. Good thing they have a hard-headed human on their side who's willing to force them to see what they're doing to one another.

And good thing that Stelios has a thing for both Nayara and Ryan. It makes menaging so much more fun when all three are into one another.

This book gives us more layers to the vampire world, more naughty sexy times with three powerful people, and one bad guy who is a very real threat. Time travel, vampires, and menages. Oh, my!

(Yes, I'm still totally on board with the idea of time traveling vampire menages. We need more books like this. MOAR!)

Thoughts on Bannockburn Binding: I think vampire time-travel menages are going to be my new pick-me-up genre. Because I liiiiiike them. A lot.

So. Time travel. Vampires. The potential for BAD, BAD things if history is not maintained. Honestly, I like ALL THAT. Throw in a rousing round of sexin' with a braw Scottish man who has a very open mind and things get even better.

While this is ultimately Rob, Tally and Lee's story, there's also a whole lot of plotting and maneuvering going on with the vampires in the present. Or the future. Or however you want to look at it. They're holding steady as they wait out the events taking place in the past. Events which could affect all of them in some way, shape, or form.

It's very complicated and fun and sexy. Did I mention the complicated part? Because on top of having to make sure that the past stays as it should, things are about to happen in the present/future that could put all vampires in jeopardy. Added bonus: the secondary characters all seem to have a lot of baggage and I can't wait to unravel their tales.

Bottom line: sexy vampires who can travel through time and have wickedly hot threesomes are just my cup of tea. *thumbs up*

My Thoughts: When you're dealing with time travel, I like to say "Go big or go home." Raven, here, she's going to go big. AND WHY SHOULDN'T SHE? Her life in the future is craptastic. I'm not going to lie, the whole paradox thing scrambled my brains. I honestly love how the universe deals with that here. Knowing that if she succeeds she'll become a Nomad, Raven's willingness to continue with her mission rocks. Bonus, I completely understand how she'd want a better life for herself, even it if wasn't the herself that was traveling through time.

I know. I had a fun time wrapping my head around that, too. Trust me, though, it works.

Things aren't always pretty in Raven's world, but the fun never stops! You know, if by "fun", I mean plasma charges that can burn a hole through you and potentially screwing up the world as she knows it. *thumbs up*

My Thoughts: Man, this series is rocking my socks off. This time traveling vampire menage never gets old. And now it's Brody's turn. Brody, the brooding, ex-slave musician who has a boatload of unresolved issues from his time in captivity. It's only fair that he gets his chance to work things out with the two loves of his very long life at his side.

I'm going to pause here and say that not only is the relationship between Veris, Brody, and Taylor fantastic, I love that the two guys have such *history* together. They love one another as deeply as they love Taylor. And also, the man-lovin' is pretty hot. *nods*

So. Constantinople. Brody's a slave, Veris is MIA, and Taylor has to pretend to be the wife of a wealthy dude. Brody's humanity puts him at risk and the miniscule changes that their very presence brings to his personal timeline could have dire consequences for all of them. It's nerve wracking watching them try to change nothing of importance knowing that Brody's time as a mortal is very nearly up. Seriously. Nerve wracking.

I'm especially excited that there look to be some hints dropped for potential future books. Alexander makes some fundamental changes in his way of thinking and there's a new player in town that I'd love to see more of. There's always room for more time-traveling vampire menages if you ask me.

Fantastic ending to the overall arc, hot sex in time, and the potential for more shenanigans in the future. I am pleased.

My Thoughts: My favorite time-traveling vampire menage is back! Admittedly, they're the only time-traveling vampire menage that I know (in a literary sense), but I like them enough that I'm sure they'd be my favorite if any others were around. SURE OF IT. Because these three have a whole lot of sexy going on. As we all should know at this point, I approve of sexy.

What has our intrepid triad been up to this time? Just messing around with the past and possibly destroying their present. LITTLE THINGS!

I have to say that I really like being able to see so many sides of Brody and Veris. They're equal parts warriors and lovers. They use their strength to protect those around them but they are so damaged by some of the things in their respective pasts. Past-Veris killed me with his disbelief that the type of love that he saw between Brody and Taylor could exist. And Brody... sometimes I just wanted to cry like a baby for him because he expects SO much of himself.

Those two men. Really, I am smitten by both of them for very different reasons. And the guy on guy hotness only makes it better. Because... wow. Just, wow.

Tracy Cooper-Posey did a wonderful job bringing new depth to all the characters. I'm not admitting this happened, but I might have teared up once or twice. I'm a little worried that book 3 is going to reduce me to a quivering, sobbing mess.

However, for my favorite time-traveling vampire menage, I'll totally put aside my worries and dive on in to the final chapter.

My Thoughts: I would like to go on record as saying that my new favorite phrase might now be "time-traveling vampire menage." I'm going to start using it in everyday conversations. "Yeah, I need to go to the grocery store. They're having a special on time-traveling vampire menages." People might look at me oddly, but it'll give me a lot of joy to use those words. A LOT.

*ahem* Right. So, this book... very good. There's naughty sexin' in a variety of places and a variety of positions. There's hot alpha males who don't mind going one-on-one with each other. *fans self* There's danger and intrigue and a cool secondary character who popped up out of the blue to (hopefully) stick around.

Brody and Veris are intriguing. They're from very different places and, at times, that comes out in their actions. Veris is the big Viking who takes what he wants. Time and love have taught him to regret some of the things he's done in the past, but he's still a warrior at heart. Brody is the poet. He's not less intimidating than Veris but he's learned to adapt more readily and see through what Veris and Taylor are saying and interpret why they're saying it. I like Brody. It's the bad boy rock star thing. He's just... delectable.

Taylor. Well, Taylor has a lot of take in when the truth about what Veris and Brody are is dumped in her lap. She handles it well. I think she's going to fit in nicely down the road as things progress in their triad.

Fast paced with the naughty type of sexin' that I like, there's still plenty of story left to tell with these three. I'm excited to see where they go from here.

My Thoughts: Not going to lie, Highlanders fascinate me. It's the kilts. And the swords. And the muscles. Time-traveling Highlanders happen to hold a special place in my loins heart. Time-traveling Highlanders who find their lady loves through the machinations of a devious witch ... bliss!

Now, normally men who make life-altering decisions for the ladies in their lives don't get high marks in my book. But... I get where Colm was coming from in this case. I mean, how many girls do you know who would just believe a guy when he says he from the past? Not many. So he took matters into his own hands (so to speak) and proved it beyond a shadow of a doubt.

I liked the twist about Piper and her connection to the past. I liked Colm's rather Alpha attitude toward her. I liked the ominous setup with the witch. Some people just can't be trusted, can they?

All in all, this was a fun, deliciously sexy read with a hunky Highlander. *dreamy thumbs up*

My Thoughts: Steampunk time travel! Something about that seems so right. Honestly, I enjoyed book 1 in this series, but I really liked trying to figure out what was causing the time anomalies and what catastrophic event was going to unpin Minerva's very existence. Plus plus plus, Asher's two sides were intriguing. I liked the differences between his future self and his past self. I liked that he learned something in his time without Minerva.

At the core of all these shenanigans lies the machine that Asher is constructing. It nearly causes him to lose Minerva both figuratively and literally. It brings him into contact with some unsavory characters. It gives him a chance to make everything right.

I'm going to keep this intentionally vague so as not to give anything away. I like that we learned more about Minerva's family and got to see Asher's emotional growth as he realized what's important to him. *nods* And then I'm going to throw my hands in the air and shout "Steampunk time travel!" while giving some serious spirit fingers.

My Thoughts: Oh my flaily flaily flail flail GODS! I almost don't have the words to tell you how very, very much I loved the end of this book. Not just the ending of the story, but the SETUP for the things that are going to happen in the Fever series. Big things! Huge things! Things that make me giddy because we're seeing the beginning of them. *cue more flailing* It's moments like this that makes me so happy that I read as much as I do and can roll around in all these different series and experience all these wonderful things. Seriously, this book could have been craptastic and the ending still would have made me issue a serious fangirl squeal. Fortunately for me, it wasn't craptastic. In fact, I enjoyed it IMMENSELY.

Part the first: Uber hot Alpha male who happens to be a brawny, time traveling Highlander. Of a sorts. I mean, it wasn't exactly time travel but he still ended up out of his own time so I'm counting it as such. Cian is ALL MacKeltar. Yeah, he's a little sketchy at first with the way he wants to use the Voice to get Jessi to succumb to him but I got over that. I mean, the guy's been stuck in a prison for eleven centuries and he comes from a time when women were considered chattel and he was the lord of the freaking castle. The deck was kinda stacked against him on the whole "gotta get my bone on once I break out of this creepy prison" thing. For the record, he totally made up for it. And Jessi totally let him. Rawr.

I loved meeting up with Drustan and Dageus and their respective mates. Once again, I really loved that we got some answers as to why there's this sudden convergence of braw Druidic Highlanders popping up in the here and now. Plus, I'm a sucker for seeing couples from previous books firmly entrenched in their HEAs.

I've really enjoyed this series as a whole and I loved how KMM tied the events that have taken place over these last 4 books with the upcoming events in the Fever series. I read Fever first and I loved the MacKeltars so much that I couldn't stop myself from reading more about them. I am pleased to say that they didn't disappoint.

My Thoughts: I'm almost ashamed to admit that I kept putting off this book because I didn't think I'd like Dageus all brooding and almost-evil after seeing his more lighthearted side in book 4. I am a fool, as it turns out. A fool of epic proportions. Because Dageus? He can pull off brooding and uber-powerful. Very, very well.

Where to start here, where to start? Hmm. Obviously, Dageus pushed all my buttons. The big, sexy, Scottish Druid types are all the rage in my fantasies. Well, Karen Marie Moning's Druids are, at least. He was so relentlessly sexual that I couldn't help but like him. I mean, really! It's almost criminal the way he could bring a girl to her knees (heh) with just a look. And then he has that tragic "possessed by the souls of 13 evil Druids" thing going for him. *swoon* And he was holding out against them. *double swoon* I just... wanted the guy to get his happy ending. Yet,a s the darkness inside him kept swelling, I didn't know how it was going to happen.

I really enjoyed the dynamic between Chloe and Dageus. He loves her inquisitive side and her thirst for knowledge. She doesn't want to be drawn to him yet she finds herself fascinated by him. He's a mass of contradictions at first and it isn't until they travel to the past that she begins to understand why. Speaking of which, I liked that we got some closure between Dageus and his father.

I might be just the littlest, tiniest bit in love with the entire MacKeltar clan. I was intrigued when they popped up in the Fever series and they haven't let me down yet. *draws pink sparkly hearts around all their names* Aww. Aren't they just precious?? Don't you want one of your own? I do. Seriously.

My Thoughts: I picked this book up because I've been on a bit of a ghostly kick lately and I wanted something that wasn't too dark and foreboding. Well, here we have a boy who can travel to the past and who, for all intents and purposes, *is* a ghost when he's there. Half of my bookish wants have now been crossed off. As for hoping it wouldn't be too dark and foreboding... Ash's sisters help lighten the mood whenever they pop in and Ash, himself, keeps things light as he tries to deal with all the weirdness popping up around him. Perfect!

I really, really liked the idea that we are what we put out in the universe. Those that think negatively and allow negative things to happen without doing anything to stop them become an agent of darkness and are swallowed by the shadows. (Dramatic, isn't it!?!?) Those that make the decision to step in and not let things happen become a force of light. It's a fundamentally easy concept to wrap your head around but several of the situations that Ash finds himself in drives home the idea that there are times when it's NOT OKAY to say or do nothing. Seeing as these books have a middle school/young adult vibe, I thought this was particularly timely and could be a way to open up a frank discussion between kids and their parents.

I also enjoyed that when Ash found himself plunked down into the middle of the Boston Tea Party he was pretty clueless as to what was going on. He figured it out eventually, but it amused me that all those history classes went in one ear and out the other on this poor boy.

A very captivating and interesting read, Vered Ehsani has done an excellent job capturing both Ash's family dynamics and the internal struggle most teen/pre-teen kids go through as they try to find their place in the world. Genuinely enjoyable with plenty of setup for more adventures with Ash in the future.

I had this book sitting on my Kindle for a week or two before I worked up the nerve to read it.  Not because I thought it would be bad or anything but because I loved Rhiannon and Disco and his crew of vampires so much in the first book that I was terrified of what this book would bring.  I mean, the end of book 1 is a killer.  A stone cold KILLEH.  The idea of this book reduced me to a quivering mass every time that ending flashed in my mind.  So I put off reading it.  I should have had more faith in the incredibly talented J.A. Saare because this book blew my socks off.*

Rhiannon was her usual brash, loud mouthed self and she's dealing with some big changes in this book.  Big changes.  Like, world ending changes.  Even if we bypass that whole "end of the world dance party" thing, she's dealing with big stuff.  Her powers have increased exponentially and she has a bit of a demon problem.  In typical Rhiannon fashion, she pulls herself up by her bootstraps and keeps soldiering on.

This book expands Rhiannon's world by leaps and bounds.  New elements are introduced, new emotions are unearthed and Rhiannon agrees to take on a task that could have some very far reaching consequences.  Needless to say, I was a puddly mess through most of this book and I loved it to pieces.  The only thing I'm cursing at the moment is the wait for the next book.

My Thoughts:  This is another one of those books where I'm not quite sure how I feel about it.  I thought the idea was cool because, you know, time traveling bounty hunters ROCK!  At the same time I thought the characters could have been a little better developed.  Now, this isn't a terribly long story, so I don't expect oodles of backstory and whatnot but it seemed like Ava and Dex got smacked upside the head with their wild attraction to one another and then they were being torn apart.  I like wild attraction.  Everybody knows that.  Or, they should know that.  I guess I'm trying to say that everything moved so quickly, from their attraction to one another to the resolution on this part of the story arc, that I never felt a real connection to either of them.

That said, this part of the story has a pretty open-ended... uh, ending.  There's definitely more in store for Dex and Ava and I'd expect that their characters will deepen as the overall arc progresses.  I hope that Ava's past is explored a bit more and we're given answers about her mother and why she tried to do what she did.

Overall, it's an interesting but too-brief look into a world where some people have the ability to time travel and vampires and aliens are commonplace.
